Razors are different - some have more aggressive angles than others and some are 3-piece vs “twist open”. Some are lightweight and some are more substantive in weight. Also, the “standard” handle length is short and the “Long” handles are more normal to me.

The $17 Feathers razor is a nice intro to DE shaving. The lightweight plastic handle is considered “long” so easy to hold and the angle is not aggressive. Certainly a closer shave than Fusion in my experience.

The EJ “Ivory” is a masterpiece and 3-piece design. A more aggressive angle than the Feathers razor and heavier, too but so perfectly balanced. The head does all the work and, with Feathers blades, the closest shave you’ll ever get.

Hope that rambling helps. If you’re considering a step into DE shaving, I’d recommend the Feathers razor & blade package available on Amazon.

It did, even though I'm not a newbie. Plan on doing the $17 Feather ... Thx.
I'm 65+ y/o ... my first razor was a Gillette DE and probably paid $2 for it back in the day.
BTW, regarding "aggressiveness" - at one time Gillette sold a razor with adjustable blade exposure (1-9?), i.e., aggressiveness.
It probably went for $3 and was worth every penny.

You’ll definitely like the Feathers...although different from your experience with those classics. I would have loved to have used that Gillette adjustable...and I’m old enough to have tried it “back in the day”.

Finally, thank you for your service to America. You guys are real heroes!!!

May God save America from the communists in our White House.

"Single blade works fine"

just a little off the top...
and trim around the ears, too.

Maybe I should borrow it back and try it.
