On July 2nd, Target "respectfully" asked law-abiding citizens to "not bring firearms" in their stores.
The department store chain did this via an announcement posted on its website and shared by interim CEO John Mulligan.
The announcement says:
As you've likely seen in the media, there's been a debate about whether guests in communities that permit "open carry" should be allowed to bring firearms into Target stores. Our approach has always been to follow local laws, and of course, we will continue to do so. But starting today we will respectfully request that guests not bring firearms to Target--even in communities where it is permitted by law.
By taking this step, Target joins Chipotle, Jack in the Box, Sonic, and Chili's in asking law-abiding citizens not to carry guns in their businesses....

I’ll just continue shopping at Wally World and paying less money for the same crappy Chinese merchandise and not worrying so much about my credit card number falling into the wrong hands...
Seems like this statement includes concealed carry weapons as well. I have been to the local Target store about three times in the last two years - zero times since the data breach. It is not like they have been receiving my business, but they definitely will not be receiving my business in the future. There are plenty of other places I already shop.
Concealed means concealed
Every Muslim US citizen in America will soon be armed and carrying as is their right pursuant to the 2nd amendment ,as the battle comes home from abroad. They would laugh at Target.
So do I.
Never was a company so aptly named.
Since Target stopped selling firearms and ammo, ran off the Salvation Army bell ringers, and told the Marines Toys For Tots people to take a hike they have received exactly Zero business from me and anyone I can persuade not to go there. This is just icing on the cake.

That’s how I read it too. It wasn’t the concealed carry that was causing the problem.

100% agree. This has nothing to do with the constitution or anybody's "rights" (except for Target's right to make this choice).
They are completely within their rights, and I’ll respect their wishes.
In fact, I’ll be so scrupulous in respecting their wishes that now and forever more, I’ll never enter one of their stores again. And THAT is my right....
Somebody should remind them what happened to Kmart as a result of comments from Rosie O’Donut while acting as their ‘spokes thing’.
Ironically the “Moms” have flooded their FB wall with praise for “banning guns.” I guess MDA told them target has banned guns to male it seem like a huge win for MDA and Bloomberg. At leas they admit they can “feel good” about shopping in a “gun-free zone.”
Walmart is expanding in our area.. Must be a few within 20 miles here
Target is less than a mile away. Hmmmmm?
Are they posting “no firearms?” That is the question. If they don’t post, I can carry concealed all day in there.
So, only criminals should have guns in Target.
How... appropriate.
