A press call with Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) turned into a total disaster after someone dialed in and asked why its OK for the Republican to harvest black votes like black people harvesting cotton.
The bizarre call is the latest development in a controversial saga out of Mississippi where Cochran defeated tea party-backed Chris McDaniel in a recent GOP runoff election by reaching out to black voters and allegedly painting his opponent as a racist. The McDaniel camp is currently trying to call the results of the election into question.
Chaos reported erupted after freelance journalist Charles Johnson invited his Twitter followers to crash the call with him:

Say goodbye to this seat. I believe it will be a Democratic winner in November. Can you imagine that in Mississippi of all places?
lol.
I love it when leftists get punked
Does a recording exist? Cannot find it at link. Would be fun to hear.
No recording was posted on that page, but it may surface sometime.
Sounds like I’m here now but I’m there type of phone calls.... LOL.

Yep. Cochrane threw away this seat in a panicky grab to keep his power. And after November, the GOP will blame the Conservatives for being extremist and not getting with the program.
This is what happens when you get in bed with rats to win an election.
And call members of your own base racists in doing so.
McConnell will go down, as well.
LOL
The GOPe may have lost this seat this time around.
Cochran could salvage some of his pride and honor if he announced his retirement right now, effective January.
Except when "rightists" get screwed by it. It may "feel" better but end up resulting worse.
Your link is dead, Jim.
dailycaller has it here http://dailycaller.com/2014/07/02/a-thad-cochran-campaign-conference-call-with-the-media-gets-hijacked-audio/
GOPe don’t care if they lose this seat because if a conservative is running, they already consider it lost. This is going to be war, them against us. They’ll try to destroy Chris and will call in all their media buddies to blame the loss on him.
That being said, I’m not so sure Chris would lose. If he tells the people he’s fighting Washington insiders and that he’ll continue to fight for them once elected, I think he can do it. He will need to let the locals know how he’ll help them, get them out from under regulation whatever.
OMG! I remember that. Was it not dubbed the hostage call?
