Miami Cop in Trouble after Pulling Over Speeding Driver, who Turns out to be internal Affairs
LiveLeak ^ | 14 July, 2014 | Miami Police Officer

Posted on 07/16/2014 9:06:17 AM PDT by marktwain

A Miami police officer pulled a car over for speeding last month, which turned out to be a plainclothes internal affairs lieutenant who shoved the door open on the officer after refusing to provide his drivers license, leading to a struggle on the side of the road that was caught on camera.

As the two were on the ground wresting, another three Miami cops who just happened to be in the area pulled up and piled on the screaming driver– only to pull off when they realized the man at the bottom was an internal affairs lieutenant from their own department.

That was when the officer Marcel Jackson, the cop who initiated the stop, was sent to his patrol car and internal affairs Lieutenant David Ramras assumed control of the situation.

Realizing the outranking officer with more than two decades of seniority over him was going to turn him into the aggressor, Jackson pulled out his cell phone and began taking photos of the officers that began arriving.

But then a cop ordered him to stop. And another cop later ordered him to delete the photos.

However, unknowing to the other officers at the time, Jackson had video recorded the entire incident with his GoPro camera, which he had attached to his dash, but shoved in between seat after realizing they were turning against him, keeping it recording to capture the ensuing conversations. The department does not use dash or body cams, so it’s not something they would expect.

From what I saw on the video, this seems an accurate summation.

Yes, police can break the law with impunity. If one of their own mistakenly cites them on it, he is chastised or worse.

This internal affairs cop is a piece of sh*t like they all are. He knows damn well one of the most stressful situations in being a cop is pulling over motorists, and of course he’s got to show attitude “cause he’s the man”. Typical government schmuck with the John Kerry attitude “Do you know who I am??” Too bad the cop didn’t knock the rat bastard out.

There are so few good cops, or LEO’s of any stripe, now I’m afraid. In the past 20 years or so, my opinions of LEO’s has gone almost 180 degrees the other day, from inherent respect to inherent suspicion. They’ve earne it.

We need IAD to keep rogue cops in check, and yet, the IAD folks are probably the lowest of the low. It’s like prison guards….we need them, but they’re often more corrupt than the populations they guard.

John Kerrys favorite saying. Remember when he was running for POTUS, the parking lot attendants, the waiters, the bartenders, all of them said he constantly says “Do you know who I am”. The freakin’ treasonous bastard likes to throw his weight around on the little guy.

1. When you get that many cars on scene that quickly for a traffic stop, you have WAY too many cops.

2. Lt Ramurass is IA. That’s the quality of oversight you’ve got in PDs these days.

3. Ramurass yells, “Do you know who the fưȼ¥k I am?” Why should it matter?

4. Switch a regular ole ‘civilian’ in for Ramurass in this situation. Now, how does it play out?

There was a Florida trooper who pulled over a local cop a couple of years ago. She currently has a lawsuit going for harassment.

Looks like this is a textbook case of why honest people may want to record everything around therm in certain situations.

This will not go well for the ranking officer.

That is absolute BALONEY. I can not believe you would make such a sickening blanket statement like that. Only about 60% of them are like that.

;-)

How come it doesn’t seem to matter if he was in violation of the posted speeding law? Shouldn’t internal affairs prosecute the cop for not giving him a ticket? Isn’t that their job?

BINGO, yes sir, and that is inherent in all Bureaucracies and a prime example of why BIG government is so BAD.

An apparent quote from an LEO forum:
Jackson is as militant as they come. And Ramres is an arrogant asshole. That’s a bad mix. Jackson definitely knew who he was. He just picked the wrong battle. He’s gonna lose in the long run. This administration is good at covering **** up.

Police risk their lives and their jobs every single time they walk up to a stopped car.
