This sign is posted on three doors of the Shiloh Brew and Chew in Maryville, TN |
The restaurant's name, Shiloh Brew and Chew, has confused some customers. The owner says that the support she has received after putting up the "Guns Welcome" sign is overwhelming:"They had put up a sign that said 'No Weapons Allowed' and they were robbed at gunpoint two days later. The convenience store manager was shot," said Floyd. "And that got me thinking. I lost a whole group of motorcyclists because they thought I didn't allow weapons. But I believe it's ok to carry as long as you have a permit."
"Brew is for coffee, chew is for food. So in my mind, my concept all went together. But after I made a $3,000 sign and paid for it, I realized that was not a good marketing idea," laughed Floyd. "But the 'Guns are Welcome' signs have helped boost business."This is why the Bloomberg media campaign to force national chains to ban guns will fail. There are many alternatives. Gun owners make up a third of the population. Competitive pressures and common sense will push business owners to this restaurant's solution, or at least to neutrality. Even the national chains have been unwilling to actually "ban guns". They just issue nonbinding "requests" to placate the Bloomberg media campaign.
She said while one man said he would not come back to her establishment, more than 20 new customers have come through her doors since she posted the signs on three doors.
I saw the owner on Fox and Friends this morning. She said that they were losing business because some thought that guns were not accepted there. She put up the sign and now business is doing great. :)
I’ve deliberately avoided establishments that have come out as anti-gun including Dick’s Sporting Goods and Chipotle. My entire family has followed suit and refuses to do any business with them. It may not mean much in the long run, but I will not patronize a business that disarms me. No way, no how.
Listening to Fox News this morning on the way to work this morning. The owner was being interviewed. She said that her decision to put out the welcome mat probably saved her business. They were facing bankruptcy. Now, she’s plenty busy, having to hire additional staff!
(revised)
Good for you. All we can do is all we can do.
In addition to some of what you stated, I have begun putting the flag postage stamp upside down on all correspondence I mail. I know it doesn’t do anything in the long run, but it makes me feel better (upside down flag is a sign of distress... for our country).
Anyone have a list of anti-gun establishments?
Facebook page.

Target
Chipotle
Dick’s Sporting Goods
Those top my list. Feel free to add.
Dick’s is anti gun? They sell them!!! Typical big business libs...
How can you go wrong with a place like this?
I can’t put my finger on it, but there’s something wrong with the stamp. It somehow wants to be put upside down and I have to look at it closely every time to make sure it’s right side up. Now, I’ll just go with the upside down and call it done.
Remember that Dick’s also pulled sales of AR platforms after Sandy Hook as a knee-jerk reaction to media coverage. Hypocrites.
I have added a YouTube Video of Fox interview of the Restaurant owner.

Added to the list of nice places to patronize.
In Lamar Alexander’s home town of all places. I’d bet he’d be against.
