I’m not normally one to write a blog post about a dead celebrity, but then I suppose there is no such thing.
There are only living celebrities, not dead ones. In death, wealth and prestige decay and we are brought into a new reality, the only reality there is or ever was — one which, for much better or much worse, doesn’t care at all about our popularity or our money.
The death of Robin Williams is significant not because he was famous, but because he was human, and not just because he left this world, but particularly because he apparently chose to leave it.
Suicide.

Addiction plus mental illness is a field in psychology, called “dual diagnosis.”
Robin Williams is a classic example, and was very public about his problems.
The man that led my intervention 20 years ago, later left the Catholic priesthood, to study dual diagnosis, and devoted his life to helping people thusly afflicted.
I’m praying the man cried out to God and was saved. I hope others are praying for that same thing.

You're right about that. But txhurl, I didn't know the guy. I don't know that he spent his life seeking God. It's impossible to say. Maybe he did, but some folks don't do that until the end.
God is merciful, though, and I'm thankful for that...as a sinner, I've messed up and needed His mercy countless times, and will again.
Even if you're right, and Williams didn't recognize the Lord during his lifetime, we can pray things turned out different at the end.

Funny, in the history of the Concentration Camp holocaust I have read, never before heard of such pre-gas chamber suicides. My understanding that most never knew they were heading to certain death although those slave Jews who worked the handling surely did. Maybe those are to whom you refer.
In the cases of the Holocaust or the 911 tower jumpers, I reason that knowing certain death and choosing some action that is technically suicide is not the same as our dear Mr. Williams, in any slightest degree.

Why do you continually make excuses for a pro-abortion, pro-homo “marriage” leftist of the first degree. In addition to Williams having to explain to the Lord why he killed himself, he will also have to answer for supporting the murder of untold millions of children with his support of pro-abortion monsters like Obama.

I understand the pits of despair and serious depression. I was lucky in that during some of the darkest moments, angels would appear to lift me up. My heart breaks for those who continue to struggle with this horrific heaviness.
