Middle Eastern (and Latin and Byzantine) chrstianity [sic] has always been adamantly opposed to any Jewish return to the ancient homeland.

You are presumably talking about political Zionism. Is it really so surprising that Christian Arabs wouldn't have been in favor of that?

I don't know what you're arguing with me about. I just posted that aside from American-style Fundamentalist Protestantism, the whole chrstian world is and always has been opposed to "political Zionism" (a favorite phrase of Willis Carto-type anti-Semites). Just how did you read my post (if you in fact read it) and come to the conclusion that I wasn't aware of this or that it surprised me in the least?

Go to almost any traditional Catholic/Orthodox site online and you'll read all about the "Judaeo-Masonic conspiracy." The ancient historic chrstian religion holds that Israel rebelled against G-d when they continued to observe the Torah they had been observing for a thousand years rather than switching to a completely new liturgical religion with its own ritual, ceremonial, and calendar. Any attempt to restore Jewish sovereignty to the Holy Land is regarded as anti-chrstian, an attempt to bring about the reign of "antichrist" (ie, a literal anointed king who fulfills the messianic prophecies literally) and even a plot to rule the world.

Listen, pal . . . I was born a simple Bible Belt Fundie with a Bible Belt Fundie's assumptions, but I got shook out of them a long time ago. I have learned that chrstianity is nothing like what I had always thought it was. By Fundamentalist Protestant standards, the notion of a non-literal "messiah" who "spiritually" fulfills prophecies and who "merits" salvation for the human race as a whole (which is then applied to individuals via baptism, sacraments, ritual, and prayer over a lifetime spent walking a tightrope over the fires of Hell) rather than suffering a vicarious eternal damnation on behalf of each individual who will ever live is just disappointing. Really? THAT is what the "old covenant" was leading to??? Good gravy. We were better off before.

I also note you seem to have some sort of problem with me. I don't exactly know why. Yes, I'm anti-Catholic and admit it, though I acknowledge that Catholicism is a form of actual true historical chrstianity, and I much prefer conservative Catholics to liberal ones. I also disagree with the banning of traditionalist Catholics from this web site because they post statements at variance with traditional American Protestant ideology (as is my own). But when I have ever sought you out to argue about anything is beyond me. Yet I notice a lot of stuff I say rubs you the wrong way.

I have wondered if perhaps you are Jim Rob's alleged liberal Democrat son who keeps the site running even though he disagrees with its ideology. If so, your posting history would make some sense as well as be perfectly understandable. But of course this is a wild guess on my part.

Bottom line: I am a Noachide, not a chrstian. And I post from a Noachide point of view because, like every person of good conscience, I believe my religion is the one true one. This should neither surprise you nor be regarded as objectionable.

Keep in mind that the dominant American culture was raised on stories from the "old testament," not stories of medieval knights and kings. We tend to see even contemporary Jews as the idealized militant rustic/Theocratic warrior shepherds of their ancient past. Those are our childhood heroes. And some of us are hoping for the restoration of that ancient polity in all its Biblical fullness.

Don't like it? Then let us part ways.
