Obamas Uncertain Trumpet, Again "If this were a parliamentary democracy, Obama would lose a vote of nonconfidence and be out of office."
Charles Krauthammer September 11
In his Islamic State speech, President Obama said many of the right things. Most importantly, he finally got the mission right: degrade and destroy the enemy.
This alone will probably get him a bump in the polls, which have dropped to historic lows. But his strategic problem remains: the disconnect between (proclaimed) ends and means.
Hes sending an additional 475 American advisers to Iraq. He says hes broadening the air campaign, but that is merely an admission that the current campaign was always about more than just protecting U.S. personnel in Irbil and saving Yazidis on mountaintops. It was crucially about providing air support for the local infantry, Kurdish and Iraqi.
(snip) Obama. Just a month ago, he ridiculed the non-jihadist rebels as nothing but a bunch of doctors, farmers, pharmacists and so forth. Now he deputizes them as our Syrian shock troops. So he seems finally to have found his Syria strategy: F-16s flying air support for pharmacists in tanks.
Not to worry, says the president. Well have lots of other help a broad coalition to roll back this terrorist threat. He then proceeded to name not a single member of this stout assembly or offer even an approximate number.
And what will this campaign look like? Not Iraq or Afghanistan, the president reassured the nation. The model will be Somalia and Yemen.
Is he serious? First, theres no comparing the scale. This year has seen 16 airstrikes in Yemen, two in Somalia. Two! That doesnt even count as a pinprick.

Obama was very enthusiastic about destroying ISIS last night but perhaps not tomorrow. The problem is that the world has come to realize that he quickly loses focus and commitment. He confuses rhetoric with leadership and accomplishment. Even countries with a strong vested interest in defeating ISIS are wary of cooperating with Obama.
Can we please send the snake-eaters to get Soros and his co-dependent ilk?
After about a week, you won’t hear anything about this in prime time.
Obama threw out his sound bites last night. On to amnesty in a few months and more government fascism.
This was just about helping his buds in the November election. I don’t expect any actual follow through but many headlines.
“If this were a parliamentary democracy, Obama would lose a vote of nonconfidence and be out of office.”
But it’s not and that’s why elections are important. Next time maybe Charles and the rest of his media circus buddies will vet the candidates and report all the facts.
But probably not.
If the Dipshit In Chief had allowed our Planes to attack the ISIS Column as they began their Advance across the Western Iraqi Desert months ago, thousands of Innocents would be alive today and ISIS would be a stain on a very short History.
Attacking a wide open Enemy guarantees Victory, while attacking an entrenched Enemy wastes valuable assets making Victory a difficult Mission to attain.
But Obama apparently didn’t think attacking the JV Team was worth the effort. What an incompetent boob, leading from behind once more.
Nah, Elections aren’t that important.
In fact, everyone here knows that Romney would have been just as bad as Obama. In fact, ISIS would probably be in Omaha right now if Romney had won.
Really, it must be true because I read it on the Internet, right here on FR, really... snicker...
It was not a mistake, by an incompetent boob, or his minions. This is a well thought out strategy.
You are probably not far off from the reality, which makes things even scarier than any one of us could have imagined.
The scariest part being that half this Country is going right along with the Marxist Mulatto and his Commie friends.
