Not specifically (as far as I know), but do some research on the Kennedys, the Clintons, Al Gore's son, Jesse Jackson and son, John Edwards, etc., and you will find accounts of arrests for heroin, cocaine, marijuana, public urination, marital fights, serial adultery, perjury, drunk driving involving the death of a young woman, and various financial improprieties. Yet none of these crimes and incidents and improprieties ever lead the press to denounce those involved as hicks or hillbillies or a laughing stock. Indeed, Ted Kennedy, one of the worst offenders, was at the time of his death described as "the conscience of the Democratic Party."

Now that is funny! Let’s see, they just destroy lives silently I guess, under the radar and all. Oh, add in sleazy stories of every variety and yep, I can see why there would be zero interest in those freaks.
