I’m more cautious than you are. I would not sell a car to someone else. If it has a problem that can be attributed to me by some out-of-control lawyer, I could end up responsible for an accident or later problem. Same thing with knives, pressure cookers, you name it. In these crazy days, I could be arming a terrorist.

in that case, the problem isn’t with selling an item... but the out of control legal system that has been setting the ground work for such legislation.

a short time after the sale, the seller should be able to completely wash their hands of any responsibility.

how someone uses the product you sold them is not your concern. if it were, even selling a soda can to a potential criminal would make you liable (as you can easily beat someone to death w/ a few soda cans)
