The problem is at the heart of the HHS or higher.
CDC is responsible for quarantine of persons traveling between states or into the country.
DHS didn’t seem to have any problems coordinating the travel of thousands of illegal immigrants throughout the country in May. They received them, sorted them, transported them, and even provided them documentation to become employed.
CDC obviously failed to recognize the symptoms of Duncan as he arrived at Dulles and proceeded to Dallas.
Once in the states, the authority to quarantine lies with the State. CDC still works with local authorities in quarantine efforts, but primary authority is with the State.
CDC has 3 Quarantine Stations in Texas, including the Dallas Quarantine Station, which has 3 Districts. Each District covers 9-41 cities/local areas.
These organizations should be tooled up to handle and administer organized control of health threats. They have had authority by Executive Order since 1983 to control viral hemorrhagic fever.
How the quarantine is implemented is generally left up to the local authorities/States.
It is obvious in Dallas that no real plan of action is being fully implemented, nor has been prepared, nor issued for quarantine, of possible pandemic causing influenzas or viral hemorrhagic fever, even though they had been identified since 1983.
Is this another sign of just how inept and incapable our society is becoming, thanks to liberals who don’t think anyone is able to act on one’s own initiative (and keep training people to be helpless)?
If you think you have been exposed to a dangerous disease, you don’t sit around waiting for someone to call you, and then complain to CNN that no one called. Are health officials supposed to be psychic and know without being told who might have been exposed? No. You get on the phone and call your local health department, your doctor, or whoever else might be in a position to advise you. You also don’t have to wait for someone to tell you to disinfect your apartment—you probably already have bleach in the house, just mix a cup of bleach and some detergent in a gallon of water and get to cleaning!
This does not sound like a case of CDC or anyone else falling down on the job. This is a case of someone being taught utter helplessness by those who care more about votes than anyone’s well-being.
This is what I really hate about Democrats in particular, they have an agenda. A devious agenda, that they implement piecemeal along the way. I have said for quite some time, Obama is not incompetent, he and his cabal are actually strategic geniuses. What we view as incompetency is actually genius if one steps back far enough to see the bigger picture.
I tend to agree with the conspiracy folks in Africa. This is an American made weaponized ebola strain, it didn't come out of the bush in Africa, it came out of the lab and is likely some version of Ebola Reston. Why Reston? Because Reston was found to be airborne right here in a Virginia Lab. There is a lot of debate on whether or not this is airborne, but in all the threads posted to FR regarding Ebola outbreaks through the years...it always burned out, doctors/nurses etc., didn't catch it and die, none ever came back here for life saving treatment.
