When radio host Hugh Hewitt asked Dr. Ben Carson if he would accept the U.S. surgeon general nomination from President Barack Obama, the famous neurosurgeon was definitive in his response.
No, no, Carson replied immediately. Because if I would, if I were going to serve in that position, I would have to serve under someone that I trusted.
Hewitt pressed further: If he said I will not interfere with the guidance you give, we need someone to rally the country around being calm and appropriately prepared, youd really, youd say no to the president of the United States?
Yes, absolutely, Carson said.
Im shocked, Hewitt added.

O stranger, tell the Lacedaemonians that we lie here, obedient to their command.
Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

Hugh,
They don’t want someone with Mr. Carsons demonstrated ability.
Look who was chosen and don’t ask foolish rhetorical questions.

I listened to the Great One on my way home this evening, and, as always, he expounded the American ethos - the Constitution, the rule of Law, and the paralyzing effect of too much government on economic growth and personal freedom. IMHO the Republican "leadership" - a term I use guardedly - must go. We need to restore two-party politics in this Nation and the Tea Party is the way to do it.
