While Palin is not as influential as she once was, due mostly to the way the left has been able to define her public image, the continued smearing and harassment helps to cement the image of someone who might well prove many of her detractors wrong. It also keeps other conservative women from stepping forward and putting their families through the wringer.
She’s still influential and the collectivist talking heads know that. It’s the reason why they can’t get her out of their heads living there rent-free 24/7.
