The Liberal War on the Palins

No liberally-biased media, of course.

I guess the concern over violence against women from those on the left doesn't happen when you're a Palin.

Noah Rothman at Hot Air:

The overwhelming sense of superiority some in the press feel toward the Palins simply clouds their better judgment. Costello would surely see the error of her ways if she were to read her disparate reactions to these two strikingly similar events, but, in the heat of the moment, she did not see Sarah Palin’s daughter as a women who had endured a physical assault; she saw her as a caricature worthy of mockery.

In an appearance on MSNBC on Thursday morning, Lewis joined a group of contrite Morning Joe hosts who conceded that they, too, initially covered the Palin “brawl” as a joke. “It did definitely have a humorous tone to it,” Brzezinski conceded. Lewis had shamed them into penitence.

“What happened to her is horrific, and I don’t think we should be joking about it,” Lewis said to the somber nods of his interlocutors.

Rothman runs through some clips of mainstream newscasters who found the Palin assault humorous and were shamefully derisive in covering the story.

Bristol Palin has now come out and expressed her side of what happened:

First, the media said Trig was not really my mom’s kid.

Then, they claimed my mom said “I can see Russia from my house.”

Recently, they said my parents are giving a divorce.

And now, they’re saying my family started a “drunken brawl.”

Ya think? I mean, maybe so. They do hate our Sarah. But she’s just not very influential anymore on a large scale and I just can’t imagine they see her as a threat to anything.

I dunno. Just musing.

The Liberal War on the Palins

_____________________________________

Is there a Liberal War on the Palins? And how is that any different from the Conservative War on the Palins?

Check any and all recent Palin/Brawl threads and one thing is clear:

Conservatives are taking plenty of shots at the Palins too.

(As well we should.)

And once again you concern-troll. Bullcrap, Sarah isn't influential.

You are a leftist plant that should not be on Free Republic.

There are at least four factors that affect how most of us relate to Bristol:
1. She’s a single mom, the result of bad choices on her part
2. She came of age in the media spotlight
3. She’s 24 years old
4. She’s part of the generation that grew up with and whose first thought is of social media

Most of us would do things differently than how Bristol does things, but that would likely be true for any person of her age and generation. It would most certainly be true for anyone who fits all of the above criteria.

Like Chelsea Clinton, she didn’t ask for the fame and notoriety that came to her as a result of parental involvement in national politics, she just had to deal with it. Her relationships and kid, that’s on her but if all single mothers were equally able to support themselves and their children, (evidently) be a good parent, and stay a part of a loving family, we’d have a hell of a lot fewer problems in this country.

When I first saw Bristol on a stage, holding her little brother, she seemed fragile to me. I see her as a tender person who might be able to be used.

While Palin is not as influential as she once was, due mostly to the way the left has been able to define her public image, the continued smearing and harassment helps to cement the image of someone who might well prove many of her detractors wrong. It also keeps other conservative women from stepping forward and putting their families through the wringer.

She’s still influential and the collectivist talking heads know that. It’s the reason why they can’t get her out of their heads living there rent-free 24/7.

Van Jones admitted the other day that they were really scared of her.

She HAD to be destroyed. SNL and Katie Couric were all too willing to oblige.

In several towns here in Maine, someone spray-painted black swastikas on Susan Collins signs.

Susan Collins, of all people. Hardly a “rightie.”

No, she’s not a “rightie”.

But then again, the Nazis aren’t of the right either. They are big-government socialists and are, therefore, of the left.

Yes, I know the Nazis were the National Socialist Party.

As you know, the left just loves to call conservatives and especially TEA Party “Nazis,” when it is the democrats who love socialism and gun-grabbing, not the conservative wing of the GOP.

I won’t be voting for Collins this time. I swore after that 2012 debacle I would never vote for a RINO again, so I’m voting third party for the Senate or doing a write in for someone else.

Collins doesn’t need my vote anyway....she’s ahead of her dem challenger by 29 points.

Don’t know about influential but she and her family are good looking, colorful etc. So it’s very easy to get the loinfo types all stirred up - always a good thing in the minds of their handlers.

I’d say blessed are the Palins, for they are being persecuted, in truth, for being Christians.
