The necessary cleanup is incentive to prefer that the bear exit the house voluntarily.
Bears that have become accustomed to humans are dangerous.

I am in the Poconos and a black bear was in my house when the previous owner lived here. It broke in a porch door and went to the kitchen. Police were able to chase it back out through the porch...
