I wish we could bring back optical scanning. Use black/blue pen and mark the person you want to vote for on a ballot, then let a optical scanning machine to count the mark

Most exams with multiple choices are done this way. Its fast, easy and accurate

Fill in the paper ballot and put it through the scanner. That’s how it was done in my precinct today.
...only thing I don’t like is no receipt.

That’s what we use here in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Bic pen to fill in a round hole on paper ballots. Machine reads the ballots when you slide it in.

I’ve never used an electronic voting machine. Will never.

Yes, and there's a physical audit trail, too, in case a recount needs to be done.

I voted using that exact kind of ballot this morning in Central Virginia.

Last election my locality had the electronic touch screens. I think many places are switching back to a marked ballot.
