Though it hasn’t been well-publicized, Walgreens has been donating a substantial amount of money to the LGBT movement. In 2006, the drugstore was a Platinum-Level sponsor of the Chicago “Gay Games,” which are also know as the “Gay Olympics.” The event touts itself as the “world’s largest sporting and cultural event organized by, and specifically for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT).

The Wikipedia description of the “Gay Games” reveals that they were started in 1982 in San Francisco, CA, and are held every four years. Unlike the real Olympics, there are no qualifying requirements to compete, so literally anyone with limited athletic ability can participate. Queers flock from around the world to the “Gay Games,” which are complete with an opening ceremony and torch lighting.

If you find out, let me know.
As long as we have the choice where to go and spend our money, I’ll exercise that choice.
There are a lot of drug stores out there.

Well, I guess I’ll keep my rx refills with CVS after all.

In my town we have only two choices: Walgreens, which is on every street corner in town, and a CVS. Not much choice there I’m afraid.

Tomorrow I plan to meet with my local Walgreen's pharmacy manager and setup a transfer of my prescriptions to a local pharmacy and let him know why I'm moving my 'scripts' from Walgreens after about 20 years of business.

It's going to be a little more expensive and inconvenient but there's no way I can support Walgreens if some of my money goes to supporting the HomoNation.

Damn...when is this political correct sh!t going to end?!?

It’s tough to be a “pure” FReeper.
Including only Linux computers and Ubuntu phones...

I understand. Walgreens is relatively new here. We have had Rite Aid and CVS for some time. Frankly, I wish we could go back to the days of the local Mom & Pop drugstores. Years ago, pharmacies sold medicines, instead of automotive parts.

Walgreen has gotten creepy with their ‘be well’ program. All the employees say “Be Well” very politely and very robotic like. Reminds me of Logan’s run or Dark City.

CVS is just across the street.”

It was my understanding that Soros funding is behind CVS.

Walgreens is overpriced anyway. I only went there for convenience or for movie candy. I won’t miss them at all.

The good news is, they never have to worry about any surprises when taking a shower after exercise.

Had to look. What’s with the brightly colored mini faux war bonnets. Of course, they are wearing Mardi Gras beads.

The ice skaters wearing the unitards and nude stocks are hilarious, as one shaker holds the leg upward of his partner in a semi-crouch position. I don’t think this a regular move, but it sure doesn’t look lady like.

And here is an interesting comment”

“Look, religion is like a penis, if you have one, awesome for you. Be proud of it if you like, but don’t whip it out in public, don’t trying forcing it on anyone and keep it the hell outta politics. This is coming from a bi-sexual conservative male who is married to a wonderful bi-sexual conservative woman.

I have many friends in the LGBT community who want to vote conservatively but because it’s the dems who accept and back them, that’s how they vote. Maybe if you got to know the LGBT community around you and gave them the same basic rights as the hetro community you might just get a Republican controlled Washington in 2016... just saying... besides, if what goes on behind closed doors of private bedrooms doesn’t affect or involve you... leave it alone.”

I always assumed that FIGURE SKATING was a gay event, at least for men. This CONFIRMED it.

From what I gathered from the posted article, this is over a financial contribution in 2006. Any other examples?
