Jonathan Gruber Tries To Hide His Remarks
Est Quod Est ^ | 11/11/2014 | Pauli

Posted on 11/11/2014 6:13:37 AM PST by Pauli67

The University of Pennsylvania which had originally posted this has now pulled down the video from their site. But this is an attempt on the part of Jonathan Gruber and company to pull their pants up after they got caught. I think it's comical that these people still believe they can say whatever they want in public, but then flip out if anyone quotes them.

It also appears that the Snopes.com mafia has been called in to cast doubt upon the incident as conservatives have reported it. They call this claim a Mixture of true and false. Here's their lame conclusion.

While the newly-circulated video of Gruber's remarks is unedited, the comments are neither recent nor complete, and whether the originating source attempted to pull them from the Internet at one point remains unclear.

What in the world remains unclear about what happened? The Snopes page, which is marked 10 November 2014, is pretty high up in the Google search results for Jonathan Gruber currently, about the 7th entry on the first page. Bing has it on the 4th page. Of course I don't have evidence, but this just feels like an attempt at damage control. Snopes has formerly been exposed as untrustworthy and biased, but hilariously the best Gruber and company can get from them is a rating of "Mixture" on the propaganda piece. It should get a rating of Mostly True which they sometimes give out if they're being generous to Gruber, but it appears that even Snopes won't damage their cred further by giving it a False. Factcheck.org doesn't have anything up yet.

Gruber is nothing more than a slimy political hack of which there is no shortage these days.

It is the VOTERS who bear final responsibility. Elections have consequences.

What were the voters thinking back in 2008 when they elected BHO POTUS along with huge Dem majorities in both houses of Congress?

National healthcare has been a part of the Democrat Party platform since the 1940s.

Gruber and his masters all belong in prison.

The state will never imprison other statists. He needs to be hung and quartered

Yes .... I’m perhaps the most frequent Free Republic poster of the picture of Romney as the used car salesman .... and with each passing month and year, Romney never fails to disappoint America with his craven Machevellian treachery ...

That EXEMPT Congress has supported these lies,
and covered up the terror and pain inflicted BY THEM,
as they made themselves, and their staff and families,
EXEMPT.

Would not be surprised if the entire Nation
goes Full Robespierre on the corrupt EXEMPT Congress
if this election was not sufficient.

While I too anguish over the Roberts decision, in reality he was only doing what most conservatives want the SCOTUS to do, which is to interpret the law within the confines of its constitutionality. The Obummercare mandate IS a tax, and just because the lying scumbag president and his minions repeatedly lied about it doesn’t mean that it should have been struck down. In reality this is playing out to a best-case scenario because the more that this Obummercare deceit is unveiled, and there’s plenty more coming, the better the chances of the GOP congress for repealing certain parts of the law and replacing it with veto-proof common sense legislation that will make everyone happy for the most part. It will literally destroy what little is left of Obummer’s presidency.

Although I do not support the SCOTUS’s decision to uphold Obamacare, we cannot rely on the SCOTUS to undue damage caused by the voters who elected BHO to begin with.

I agree, from your lips to the leaders of congress’ ears.I hope they can be convinced to get rid of the law.Unless they feel we are to stupid. which I feel may happen.

Old news. Didn’t I see his remarks posted here over a year ago? There’s not too many here that didn’t know Obama care was a scam from the get-go. This video also supports Roberts contention that the mandates were, in fact, a tax. Didn’t this video and remarks come out after the ruling explaining Roberts decision?

Whatever. I’m happy it came back to light. The Sheeple need to be reminded what their Overlords are doing. Not behind their back. To their faces. Hopefully it will have an effect on a few. Maybe it already did. See the mid-terms.

And no, I didn’t watch the video. I’m going off memory. Pisses me off too much to watch that weasel. Again.

A conservative would get a twinge of guilt - a feeling that this is not right - if he had to lie to get an idea passed.

A liberal feels a sense of superiority.

One little google search and all kinds of quotes from Mr. Gruber pop up. All this was out in 2011 and 2012 and 2013. Why oh why didn’t the MSM and the Rino’s jump on it? (rhetorical) Some of the best quotes: “They’re the same f***ing bill. He [Romney] just can’t have his cake and eat it too,” Gruber said. “He can try to draw distinctions and stuff, but he’s just lying. The only big difference is he didn’t have to pay for his. Because the federal government paid for it. Where at the federal level, we have to pay for it, so we have to raise taxes.” (Gruber is a Dem) Gruber also expressed frustration that the Supreme Court might decide the fate of health care on “political grounds.” “It’s very disturbing,” he said. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/16/obama-health-care-law-mitt-romney-jonathan-gruber_n_1098036.html About four million will be asked to pay more. They’re just sort of healthy people who are going to have to pay more. The “genetic winners” comment was sort of loosey goosey…The point is that a lot of people who are healthier have benefited from existing discrimination in the market. http://www.nationalmemo.com/romneycareobamacare-architect-jonathan-gruber-blasts-disgusting-refusal-to-expand-medicaid/ (He had this to say about Romney to PBS.) You know, I was very impressed. I came out of that meeting. I went home and told my wife and said: “As a Democrat, I’m very scared. This guy could be president.” He was really very smart, well-spoken, and just really seemed to know his stuff and was very impressive in person. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/government-elections-politics/choice-2012/the-frontline-interview-jonathan-gruber/ 2012 article from Forbes, which the author says that the 3:1 ration of cost (older can’t be charged more than 3 times a lowest cost) was a FAVOR from the DEMS to AARP. www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2012/03/22/how-obamacare-dramatically-increases-the-co]st-of-insurance-for-young-workers/ This guy laments the “unelected Judges” one or two, having an effect on the Healthcare of everyone, and there Gruber is, but apparently is “too smart” to realize that HE is that unelected person. This guy was doing a study in Oregon with medicaid being assigned on a LOTTERY system which he claims, “improved mental health”. He says he regrets not being more upfront about his involvement with the administration. But he does not apologize for publicly advocating the legislation, and continuing to do so — including through a comic book he wrote to explain the law. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/29/business/jonathan-gruber-health-cares-mr-mandate.html?_r=2&pagewanted=all&;

This guy was to invested in his OCA models, the Dem Party and political coverage for the Dems, and his narcissistic view of himself and how “smart he is”. He can’t extract himself.

From the NYTIMES, “In addition, Rampell portrays Gruber as being emotionally invested in Obamacare, quoting him as saying “my stomach started churning” as he took in the news from the Supreme Court. “[Princeton sociologist Paul] Starr said he thought Mr. Gruber in particular was overstating the effectiveness of the mandate because ‘it’s his baby,’” she adds.

Prof Gruber

“You know, it is so rare that we have a bold idea we can run the experiment on, right? We actually ran the experiment on a theoretical concept. We ivory-tower types come up with concepts like this all the time. Here’s one we came up with that we tested, and it worked...”

Mr. Gruber, it FAILED.

Here is his Harvard PhD thesis.
“Empirical analysis
of two data sets suggest that changes in employers’ costs of
workers’ compensation insurance are largely shifted to employees in the form of lower wages. In addition, higher insurance costs are found to have a negative but statistically insignificant effect on employment.”

Conclusion
“This paper has analyzed the impact of cost shifting in response to increases in mandated workers’ compensation insurance costs. The results suggest that a substantial portion of the cost to employers of providing workers’ compensation benefits are shifted to employees in the form of lower wages....”
“...The adverse employment effects of mandated health
insurance may well be larger than those in workers’
compensation insurance because the minimum wage is likely to be more of a constraint for uninsured
workers,...”
