ISIS Unveils Its New Gold-Backed Currency To Remove Itself From "The Oppressors' Money System"
Zerohedge ^ | 11/13/2014 | Tyler Durden

.

It appears the rumors are true. Islamic State is set to become the only 'state' to back its currency with gold (silver and copper) as it unveils the new coins that will be used in an attempt to solidify its makeshift caliphate. ISIS says the new currency will take the group out of "the oppressors' money system."

As Zaid Benjamin notes, ISIS releases details of its new currancy with golden 1 & 5 dinar, silver 1, 5, 10 dirham and copper 10 & 20 fils

It seems Alan Greenspan may have been on to something after all...

"Remember what we're looking at. Gold is a currency. It is still, by all evidence, a premier currency. No fiat currency, including the dollar, can match it."

Of course this will mean more physical demand - along with Russia and China - and so more price suppression by the West.

The copper and silver coins appear oval shaped. Will they have vending machines in the new caliphate?

The first Muslims copied the Byzantines’ gold coins.

And gained themselves some sympathy from inveterate gold bugs.

If “the Oppressor” removed its money from the Middle East, ISIS — and, indeed, most of the Middle East — wouldn’t last six months before begging “the Oppressor” to return.

Here’s a prediction. $hithead will recognize “IS”, or as he calls it “ISIL” as a legitimate country.

They will push for total obliteration now. How dare anyone cut in on banking’s exclusive turf?

Related: Baghdadi audio surfaces, supposedly recorded after the airstrike. Calls for “volcanoes of jihad” and adds Yemen, Egypt, Libya, and Algeria to the caliphate.

Would you NOT sell your car to an isis asshole if he paid you in solid gold ... even if it had the stamp of the enemy on it ?

Gold is gold and we've heard various and sundry hawkers urge us to buy gold ... mostly as ... ahem ... coin.

The collector's value of a solid gold isis coin is incalculable

I think we'd be wise not to pooh pooh these guys too much ... we who are Christian KNOW there is an anti-Christ SOMEwhere and he has followers and the isis crowd is already a bloodthirsty lot ...

Just sayin'

I'll watch this thread to see how many people don't take this seriously.

Part of history I can’t stand is the Roman empire and then the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) empire debasing their gold currency.

Well, this cinched their fate. You don’t go around the globalist banking oligarchy without terminal consequences ... see Abe Lincoln, John Kennedy, etc.

I don’t know of any political entity in history that did not resort to debasing at some time. If you want ISIS coins better grab some now before they too get debased soon.

Okay, you sell your car for gold coins, good enough so far. Then what do you do with the coins? Do you put them in a box? No, more likely, your going to deposit them in a bank, or exchange them for some piece of paper somewhere down the line. That’s the part I can’t get past.

The point of my comment is .. gold is tangible and there are people that will trade in/with gold because they know what they're doing

Just because I don't know how to deal in/with gold doesn't make it any less tangible.
