I heard a man (Native American, I think) making this argument on MSNBC yesterday. No to Keystone because their women will be raped.

More Marxism will solve this problem.

You could use this argument against any large infrastructure project.
To: ilovesarah2012
What percentage of those rapes are done by other Native Americans?

Just when you think the Left couldn’t possibly get more harebrained or their propaganda more ridiculous—they always manage.

There is an old chestnut (that is, lie) that domestic violence skyrockets immediately after the super bowl. This is predicated on a couple of things. First, football is something that caters to men and men can't control their rage when their team wins. Every year it's trotted out as evidence that men are all violent psychopaths with a hair trigger just waiting for an excuse to slap women around.
And it's a lie. There is no statistical support for this.
So when people make up stuff about what will cause men to go off, I tend to be a bit suspicious.

The sad statistic regarding assaults on Native American women probably has something to do with the rampant alcoholism and unemployment among Native American men.
And, by the way, if you want to know what Marxism will do for America, take a long look at the conditions on an Indian reservation.

To Kill a Mockingbird is still relevant. However the racial roles have flipped.

Concerns about pop-up cities are well-merited, as spikes in sexual violence have already been documented in other regions affected by resource booms. Where large groups of men go, sexual assault tends to follow . . . In other words, anyone who works on the pipeline is a rapist just waiting to grab any woman in sight. This has to be a parody site.

Another study using data from the 1985
National Family Violence Survey found that
Native American couples were significantly
more violent than their white counterparts.
Thus, there is some empirical evidence that
Native Americans are at significantly greater
risk of violencefatal and nonfatalthan other
Americans.

Could be the problem is within the tribal community, rather that the outside influence.

I was looking for the satire tag.
Didn’t find it...
So.. Native American will be raped because of the pipeline. I guess the idea of self-defense doesn’t occur to them?

You could use this argument against any large infrastructure project. Got it! For example, the megamosque in Tennessee should never be constructed because.. rape.

Talk about grasping at straws.
Now, when they can work climate change in to that scenario, they can hit 2 leftist/lib issues at the same time.

As I was channel surfing yesterday afternoon, I saw this guy on Ed Schulz’ show making this argument. I was stunned that this was the reason he opposed the pipeline. I looked for an article about it and found this back from January. Liberals never cease to amaze me with their logic.

Native American women in the United States are two and a half times more likely to be sexually assaulted than women of any other race.
Is it just me or is that a rather racist remark?
