Many of our fellow citizens are brain dead but not all. The recent elections demonstrated an awareness of the evil of the left and an unwillingness to continue to sanction its shibboleths.
I just returned from MD where my daughter worked feverishly for the new conservative governor. When my brother was asked to explain the dramatic shift in vote count between the day and evening he explained, “The day voters are members of the gimmedat class. The evening voters worked all day. When they got off work they performed a miracle.”
MD elected a nonpolitical businessman as state leader. If it can happen there it can happen in NY and CA.
We need to mount a full frontal assault on PRAVDA. The MSM must be brought to its knees for its complicit corruption with the gang in DC.
I firmly believe patriotism is not dead but has been sleeping. Millions are getting the message and are waking up to the dangers you so effectively have described.
We need a plan of action. The first and most important task is to get information flowing that will bear down on the MSM and force them to do their job.
We are intimidating the guys who buy ink by the barrel. We must drown them in it.

But we need FIGHTERS on our side in GOP leadership. With GOPe leadership either corrupt/power addicted or corrupt/blackmailed, the result is the same. GOPe leaders block any meaningful moves. Young Turks in GOP are stymied by committee seat appts held over them by corrupt/blackmailed GOPe leaders. Only open voice votes? Please. We need secret votes for new house and senate GOP to overturn the GOPe old guard. Think that’s going to happen? Nope.

No matter what info we get on (choose your scandal) it will be ignored by American Pravda. Any story originating right of center, no matter its truth or merit, is rejected due to partisanship. I feel like we are checkmated. If Boehner/McConnel/Roberts are under blackmail control, we are out of options. Checkmated, waiting for President Hindenburg or those honorable military officers to save us.

I see Team Obama covering all bases that matter at this point.

But Hitler’s speech explaining the night of the long knives could have been pure Zerohissef.
“If anyone reproaches me and asks why I did not resort to the regular courts of justice, then all I can say is this: In this hour I was responsible for the fate of the German people, and thereby I became the supreme judge of the German people.”

“It was no secret that this time the revolution would have to be bloody; when we spoke of it we called it ‘The Night of the Long Knives.’ Everyone must know for all future time that if he raises his hand to strike the State, then certain death is his lot.”

Pure dictator/tyrant...

As I read the disassembly of America at the hands of these thugs, I am definitely reminded of Hitler.

Thanks so much for your outstanding contribution here, and in your Enemies books, which I thoroughly enjoyed. You've convinced me to read "Stonewalled," and I've already read "In the Garden of Beasts."

The only (very minor) error would be the date of FDR's inauguration, which was March 4, 1933, not in January, 1933. I only point this out in case you'd want to publish this essay in a more formal setting.

Hmmmm....I wonder how I missed that. Thanks. But I don’t expect to ever be publishied in “more formal settings.”

You see, it really helps to be considered “reasonable” at every “formal” level up the chain. Derbyshire and Steyn were not considered “reasonable” at NRO, and were essentially ejected.

So I say Screw all of the ‘reasonable’ Vichy GOPe websites. I don’t like to tamp or tame or timetable or trim my ideas according to the templates of others. They would not have me, and I in turn would not want to welcome at a table of Vichy Republicans managing the terms of our surrender.

Nope, I like it fine, my way. I just toss them out into the ether with a searchable title. Name-brand websites? Who cares. If My stuff was published on a leading conservative website, it would not move the needle one iota. Most Americans don’t know if Benghazi is a city, a snack, or a dance. And they don’t care. I am writing for posterity, not to turn this canoe around on the last bend of the Niagara River. That ain’t going to happen at this late date.

Its purpose was to deliver thousands of high-powered assault rifles to Mexican drug cartels.

A small but important quibble, Travis. Its purpose was to boost the number of Mexican gun crimes attributable to US-sourced guns [which necessarily and with malice aforethought required large numbers of Mexicans to be wounded or killed]. Its method was to wantonly deliver those guns to the cartels who would effect the contemplated crime statistics boost.

Good point, purpose vs method.
