Pope says equating Islam with violence is wrong

By Julio Severo

According to Reuters, Pope Francis said on Sunday that equating Islam with violence is wrong.

Pope and Turkish mufti
Francis, the leader of 1.2 billion Roman Catholics, told reporters aboard his plane returning from a visit to Turkey that it was wrong for anyone to react to terrorism by being enraged against Islam.

Francis’ predecessor, Benedict XVI, caused, according to Reuters, storms of protest throughout the Islamic world in 2006, when he made a speech that suggested Islam espouses violence.

Benedict said he had been misunderstood and apologized.

The Argentine pope has been trying to foster cooperation with ‘moderate’ Islam in order to work for peace. He said that ending poverty was crucial, because he thinks that poverty gives rise to “the recruitment of terrorists.”

In his visit to Turkey, Francis told the mufti twice that Christians and Muslims must ‘adore’ God.

While he was rebuking those who equate Islam with violence and fostering cooperation with ‘moderate’ Islam, it seems that he does not know a famous statement by Turkish president Tayyip Erdogan: “The term ‘moderate Islam’ is ugly and offensive — Islam is Islam.”

It seems also that he does not know that recently Erdogan and his government held an Islamic summit for Latin America, a mostly Catholic region now under the Islamic radar of Turkey.

With information from Reuters, AP and Jihad Watch.

Pope Francis’ religious indifferentism is the doctrinal nemesis of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI and is in stark opposition to the Magisterium of the Church.

One example among many: Pope Pius VIII forcefully condemned religious indifferentism in the encyclical Traditi humilati nostrae:

“And this is the lethal system of religious indifferentism, which is repudiated by the light of natural reason itself. In this light we are warned that, among many religions which disagree with one another, when one is true, anther must necessarily be false, and we are further admonished that there can be no association with light and darkness. Against these repeaters of ancient errors, the people must be assured, Venerable Brethren, that the profession of the Catholic Faith is alone the true one, since the Apostle tells us that there is one Lord and one baptism. As Jerome says, the man who eats the Lamb outside of this house is profane, and the man who is not in the ark of Noah is going to perish in the deluge. Neither is there any other name apart form the Name of Jesus give to men by which we must be saved. He who believes will be saved, and he who shall not have believed will be condemned.”[9]

Can anyone even imagine Pope Francis speaking like this? (comments by ebb tide)

Remember H.H. Pope Benedict XVI lecture at Regensburg and his strong criticism of Islam.

Speaking about Islam, Benedict XVI referred to remarks from Emperor Manual II Paleologos of Byzantine (the Orthodox Christian empire which had its capital in what is now the city of Istanbul ) regarding the role of this religion.

"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”[3] The emperor, after having expressed himself so forcefully, goes on to explain in detail the reasons why spreading the faith through violence is something unreasonable. Violence is incompatible with the nature of God and the nature of the soul. "God", he says, "is not pleased by blood - and not acting reasonably (σὺν λόγω) is contrary to God's nature. Faith is born of the soul, not the body. Whoever would lead someone to faith needs the ability to speak well and to reason properly, without violence and threats... To convince a reasonable soul, one does not need a strong arm, or weapons of any kind, or any other means of threatening a person with death...".

He should study the Crusades.

Yes he should. I'm sure the Vatican Archives have all the details, including what's not shared with the public.

I've never wondered why I dropped the RCC when I was 9 years old. The hypocrisy was rampant then and still is.

Where are the good muslims Mr. Pope, Mr. obama? Show us? Saudi Arabia? Pakistan? Iran? Syria? I don’t see them.

Mr. Pope, they would take your head first, given the chance, and the entire muslim world would rejoice. Think on it, while you can.

Trying to determine if he is just naive or stupid.

Some more possibilities: disingenuous or a slave to PC?

Pope says equating Islam with violence is wrong

So those tens of thousands of muslims around the world killing each other and as many Christians and Jews as they can find are just creating a new sport?
Islam is a death cult. Deal with it............
