If fido goes to heaven, and fluffy the cat goes to hell, what about all those chickens I’ve eaten? And the cows? The horror! And pigs?

No.
Pets never took the “fall” in the garden of Eden.
They were created “good” and they’ve stayed “good” in God’s eyes... (excepting probably my cat, but that’s another story).

I posted the correction on Facebook since two of my “friends” who are obsessive about dogs posted what was first attributed to Francis by the NYT. I got some hostile pushback from my SIL who I don’t believe likes me much anyway, like I really had anything to do with what the Pope said or didn’t say. I responded that while I would be glad if (certain) of my dogs were in heaven I was going there to be with my God not with my dogs. That really p*ssed her off. Sigh.

How does one know one way or the other? I would love to hear someone explain to a chinese farmer that their dog is good and will go to heaven but they will roast in hell.
To: cripplecreek
I knew when I saw the headline that someone would say that pretty quick. Cats are going to hell for sure. Heh.

If pets can go to heaven, they can also go to hell. I would like to see the scripture supporting this claim.

Crows came from hell, and go back to hell.
When ETs scan a planet to see if it’s been subject to a destructive rip in the time/space continuum because of a previous war or catastrophe, they look for crows.

So does Ceiling Cat.
Personally I don’t see why dogs and cats can’t be in heaven. That would be heaven in my eyes.

I agree. It wouldn't be Heaven without all of our loved ones, would it? I can't see God denying us those reunions.
I won't hold any animus against the "all cats go to hell" poster and hope they join us in Heaven...but that they also get litter box duty for a millennia or two.

Do Aliens (the little green/grey men) read the same Bible we do? I know for a fact, based on Twilight Zone, the Aliens have a VERY different Bible.
Anyway, God gives us the abiblity to have choices. Based on how we choose to live we can end up in Heaven or Hell. Same goes for animals. We have a choice to have them with us whether we end up in Heaven or Hell. It is our personal choice whether we want our pets with us.
How's that for an answer?
