Ted Cruz Was Right, Again
American Thinker ^ | December 16, 2014 | Matthew Vadum

Posted on 12/16/2014 9:34:28 AM PST by Bigun

The usual suspects are attacking Ted Cruz for doing his job.

Republicans and a chorus of conservative commentators are dumping on the sole conservative Republican senator from Texas because – the horror! – he dared to force his Senate colleagues to publicly take sides on President Obama's shameful extralegal unilateral immigration amnesty.

Apologists for Republican cowardice claim to be upset with Cruz because, as they claim, his parliamentary maneuvers to stymie the amnesty somehow allowed some objectionable Obama nominees to move forward in the confirmation process.

Of course, they're lying. All Obama nominees are objectionable – remember, our president is a red diaper baby – yet the Senate eventually caves to Obama on more or less all of them. Any Senate that can confirm a full-on racist, pro-terrorist, America-hating, kooky, in-your-face Marxist like Tom Perez as labor secretary is going to give its blessing to just about anyone Obama sends over. Who really cares if a few bureaucrats who will be approved anyway by the incoming Republican Senate in the new year get to work a few weeks or months early?

What really infuriates namby-pamby Republican senators is that Cruz forced them to take a public stand on the president's unilateral amnesty. They know that the Republican Party base is mad as hell over the amnesty, and they don't feel the need to answer to mere hoi polloi. Bought off by the crony capitalist lobby, they support amnesty but don't want to face the electoral consequences for their betrayal of the American people. Just as Democrats don't want to get rid of poverty, Republicans in leadership don't want to stop the amnesty (or get rid of Obamacare, for that matter). They need villains against which to rail.

Cruz is one of only 22 senators, GOP or Rats, willing to cast a vote against Team Obama's illegal amnesty and Obamacare, the federal take-over of medical care. Team Tyranny already controls the DOJ, IRS, NSA etc. We are on the cusp of a dictatorship in the USA. Instead of one "Hitler Enabling Act" (1933) we are seeing the slow rollout of a piecemeal "Obama Enabling Act," one unopposed imperial decree at a time.

His wife needs to get another job. If it comes down to Warren vs. Cruz, we can expect to hear 24/7 on every media outlet that Cruz’s wife is a Goldman Sachs exec. Maybe it shouldn’t matter, but it will, and this simple fact will cause millions not to vote for Cruz.

IMHO.

I called my Senator thanking him for standing with Senator Cruz against Obama’s unconstitutional amnesty.

The other Senator will soon be replaced.

Agreed. What will stop me, however, is the R next to his name. I'm so sick and tired of the backstabbing traitorous POS's in the GOP. I won't vote for another for quite some time. If Cruz wants my vote (and I would LOVE to vote for him), it'll not be on the GOP ticket.

I don’t mind any R who voted with Cruz and Lee last weekend. There are 22/46 good guys at least.

I agree there are good guys in the party, but the party as a whole is what I have a problem with. I've been supporting R candidates (and once was one) for 30+ years. I'm tired of getting bent over and screwed by people that are supposedly on my side. When the GOP finds their balls and actually does something to reverse the obola perversions of the last few years, I'll stand with them. Until then, I'm done getting screwed.

I'm in exactly the same boat except with me it's forty years.

Unfortunately neither of us is "done getting screwed"!

That’s not very helpful except to the liberals of both parties.

So, let me get this straight.

There were 46 Senators that voted with Cruz. And McConnell and his ilk think that Cruz is the problem? Hey McConnell! You have
more problems than just Cruz.

There may be a light on the horizon. Looks like the RINO’s are
getting outvoted. Now if we can only get them voted out.

And that argument is about as tired and wore out as "It's Bush's fault".
