I disagree on one point: A crumbling marriage pushes an honorable spouse to counseling, separation, divorce, but NOT adultery. That’s on him, not on her.

I agree. I have a good marriage but for a long time I would tell my wife that I was not going to let her sense of anger/entiement run our marriage and that I was not going to live my life out walking on eggshells. I don't quite know how she managed me but we both feel that we have each other adequately trained.
