Obama wants to change the tax code to punish families with a stay-at-home parent

Obama wants to change the tax code to punish families with a stay-at-home parent

The Hill recently reported:

… the president is proposing a new $500 second-earner credit to help cover the additional costs, such as commuting, of families with two working spouses. That plan is expected to benefit 24 million couples, the White House said.

Another proposal would streamline and expand childcare tax benefits, providing up to $3,000 per child under age 5, helping 5.1 million families that make up to $210,000 a year and cover costs for 6.7 million children.

A real tax cut means that marginal tax rates are cut, and people can spend that money however they want.

But that’s not what Obama wants.

Instead, Obama wants to use the tax code to reward people who put their children into day care, and to punish families with a stay-at-home parent.

If you want this tax cut, you will have to behave in the specific way that Obama wants you to behave.

If your lifestyle is different than the way that Obama wants you to live, then you will not get a tax cut.

Wonder if the Sunni-In-Chief will include exemptions for eating Wagyu steak, drinking $300 bottles of wine, and having a personal chef or three?

Who cares what Obola wants. Republicans control both Houses of Congress and that is where spending and taxes originate so there's not a snowball's chance in hell of Boehner or McConnell advancing this cause. They got our back.

HA! Sometimes I say the craziest things.

You just know the guy lays awake at night dreaming up ways to squander the hard earned money of the taxpayer.

Obama knows this won't pass. It's all about changing the subject so the feckless Republicans won't get around to passing anything Obama would have to veto.

And the DC crowd who were overwhelmingly elected to be conservative will brag that they stood firm against not further destroying the accumulation of assets. They're either idiots, or complicit, or both.

Obama's agenda helps two income familes enroll their infants in day care instead of raising them at home while he's got a plan to keep "students" in public school for grades 13 and 14.

Because the Hill's article doesn't mention that aspect of Obama's plan.

So thank the blogger for sniffing this out.

BO and his minions hate stay-at-home parents for two reasons:
  1. They don't generate sufficient tax revenue for the nanny state to confiscate.
  2. They keep their children away from the government indoctrination centers during their early formative years.

Hey, Obola, now that you’ve “ended” the war in Iraq and Trashkanistan, how ‘bout funneling some of the money back to its rightful owners? You know. Us. Time we saw the fruit of that “peace dividend” we’ve heard so much about.

No.

He could have posted from the source and mentioned whatever he "sniffed" as a comment.

What Obama is advocating is incredibly bad policy, but characterizing it as “punishing” those it does not benefit is leftist-style reasoning. I am not punished by the oil depreciation allowance which I can’t claim, not owning any oil wells, nor by the favorable tax treatment of income from overseas teaching and research, from which I don’t benefit since my university position is here in the U.S., and so forth. (You can make your own list of all the tax credits and deductions you can’t take because they don’t apply to you to emphasize the point.)

Well put (13th & 14th grade); in the long run should hide real unemployment as well (pretending “student” is a career) while masking the truly miserable results of public education by adding two more years to it. The teachers’ unions are the owners and financial lifeblood of the Democratic Party (through their funneling of taxpayer dollars to dem candidates), and just as Romney had to contend with the built-in advantage of Dems with the “takers” any non-Democrat candidate must contend with the teachers’ unions’ warchests set against them.

Obama has done nothing but punish “makers” while rewarding “takers”.

The entire tax code is written to control the behavior of the population, and to reward groups the politicians like and punish those the politicians dislike. The ENTIRE tax code.

I think you’re right. Obama DOES want every parent to work, especially in a dead end 3 hour per day Circle K type job, then bitch about the lack of health care. It’s all part of the plan, the final solution, if you will.

The $3K will greatly benefit baby mamas as well. It’s even more of an incentive to pop out more ghetto babies.
