Effectively, a Neo-Marxist believes in Marxist analysis of economics (that economic value is zero sum, that the economy is warfare of the rich against the poor, that all power in society is economic).

However the Neo-Marxist has abandoned the notion of the 'dictatorship of the proletariat' and the notion that all banks and financial institutions are historically inevitable accumulations of capital, but believe instead that they are illegitimate criminal enterprises run by a shadow cabal.

Basically Marxism minus proletarian class consciousness plus generic conspiracy paranoia equals Neo-Marxism.

I don’t believe that all banks are “illegitimate criminal enterprises run by a shadow cabal”, but I don’t believe they operate under a free market anymore. Governments have regulated them to death and then force taxpayers to bail them out.
