“’The very thing that caused my son to lose his life was the color of his skin’”
Probably a fair statement. Because he was black, people all his life told him how HORRIBLE the country was and how important it is to exact REVENGE on his oppressor. But when he tried to do his part for the cause, his oppressor popped him.
Had he been white, he would have just said “went out to buy some Skittles” and that would have been the end of it.
STFU, Ms Fulton.
If so, Mrs. Martin, someone forgot to warn Trayvon about his skin colour and how to deal with the real world. Yet, he was allowed to venture out alone at dusk on a rainy evening without parental oversight into a multi-racial and unfamiliar neighbourhood. He could have been robbed, beaten, or killed at random by anyone who noticed his different skin colour, manner of dress, or demeanor. Didn't anyone tell him not to talk to strangers. He could have been kidnapped and never seen or heard from again. He should have been warned to always be careful. Didn't anyone tell him there are bad people in this world that will harm a young and innocent teen regardless of colour. When spotted by Zimmerman, even Zimmerman knew Trayvon didn't belong in the neighbourhood and proceeded to investigate. Again, why wasn't he told these things by any of his multiple mothers and fathers who cared so much for him.
If Trayvon had gone straight to the store and back and hadn't stopped to ask questions or look around. If only he had minded his own business and avoided talking to anyone. If only he had been taught bad things can happen to good people and to be extra careful after dark. I believe he would be alive today.
No, Mrs. Martin, it was NOT the colour of his skin alone, it was the failure of his parents to teach their children about the bad things that can happen to them when they ignore and disrespect the laws of the real world. They failed to impress upon Trayvon the importance of his life and what it meant to them. As a result, Trayvon made some very bad choices and the last one cost him his life. Now that it is too late to warn Trayvon, they must find someone (like a Zimmerman) or something else (like racism) to blame.
You left out one critical piece that needs to be repeated.
Per Rachel Jeantel (sp?) in her Piers Morgan interview, Martin thought that he was being stalked by a homosexual rapist.
So his assault on Zimmerman can be seen as a gay-bashing attack driven by the same “gay panic” argument used by the thugs who murdered Mathew Sheppard.
Maybe it was her upbringing of her son.
Matthew Sheppard was killed in a drug deal gone bad, not by “gay bashers” as the LGBTQALMNOP crowd would like you to believe.
Yes , Rachel Jantel, witness #8, did indicate that Martin felt like he was being stalked by a homosexual rapist, with no explaination or justification.
Also, when the cellphone landed on the ground, she states she heard the 'wet grass'(?) on the cellphone ?
She was the State's star witness as she was alledgedly on the cellphone with Martin immediately preceeding the assault and shooting.
Yup, I’m very aware of that. And since the drug deal gone bad story was broken by a gay journalist writing for a gay-audience publication, it’s incredibly hard for Progressives to dispute it.
Oh, forgot to add that my comment was in reference to the defense as presented by Sheppard’s murderers (”gay panic” being seen as more likely to achieve an acquittal than “he stiffed us on a drug deal”), and how his case has been championed by the Left as gay-bashing.
Pointing out that Martin’s own friend, who was the state’s star witness, indicated that Martin was probably “gay bashing” Zimmerman and then raising the spectre of the defense used for Sheppard’s murder, ties nicely together pretty nicely ...
