It is probably true. If a black kid does well in school and tries to improve him or herself—they’re accused of trying to be white.Gangsta is respectable and anything much further from that and the kid is trying to be white.
It is sad. Some blacks make the prison bars out of their own skin color and keep locking themselves inside this self made prison. Trayvon’s mother wasn’t always there for him but she has decided to mother him in death.
It would have been more helpful for her to have all this concern before Trayvon went off the rails. Black people have the key and only they can free themselves. All the anger and ranting at white people isn’t going to change a damn thing— they’re spinning their wheels.

Ditto. Color has nothing to do with it, its the CULTURE. Amazing how the parent totally gives a pass to the thug behavior. I’ll save my sympathy for Zimmerman who had his life ruined by the media whipping up the crowds with the help of the activists. It is my observation from listening to years and years of complaints ad nauseum that many of that culture do not want to blend, melt, or mainstream. The logical conclusion is stand apart and be prepared for the action your behavior instills. There is allot of “hate & resentment” being taught behind some of those closed doors. Laws attempt to direct and modify behavior but 80% must be the will of the individual. Lose the victim mentality and appreciate the opportunities provided by God / then use them!

Let’s also assume, for the sake of argument, that Zimmerman is a wannabe and had dreams of being the big hero that night when he got out of his vehicle to pursue on foot, which in turn made confrontation inevitable.
Fine. Does *any* of that change the evidence that Martin was on top of Zimmerman and pounding him into pudding when Zimmerman shot him in self-defense?
No, it does not. The moment Martin began battering Zimmerman, he became the bad guy, and lost any possible claim to being the victim in that situation. It was about a hot-headed kid using his fists and the pavement on another human being, not skin color.
I seem to recall that she and the father were divorced long ago and that Trayvon was raised by another woman from about the age of two.
That lady finally got fed up with his misbehavior in school and crimes and drug use and kicked his ass out on the street.
He was then living with his father, who was shaking with another woman, in a different city, when he decided to try a beatdown on someone and got killed.
