He lied about his background in a bio to be circulated by his literary agent back in the 90s, when being a Kenyan-born candidate for Mayor of da Shity of Chicago (his highest aspiration at the time) would have been cool.

A year before the Acton & Dystel pamphlet was produced, Obama gave interviews to both the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Daily Herald in which he stated that he was born in Hawaii.

Now, these publications obviously circulated widely around Chicago. The A&D pamphlet, by contrast, had Obama's pithy bio among a group of 80 or so authors and was distributed just to a relatively small handful of publishers. In addition to the Chicago publications, the "born in Hawaii" reporting in 1990 was done also in the New York Times and Washington Post.

It doesn't seem likely that the A&D "born in Kenya" statement came directly from Obama, given that in interviews to these major national publications Obama the year earlier stated point-blank he was born in Hawaii. What would have been the motivation for stating it differently the next year? "Born in Hawaii" was already on the public record and circulated widely. And if the motivation was somehow to create a buzz around his forthcoming book, then why not include "born in Kenya" in the book itself? Or at least put it on the dust jacket? What would Obama accomplish by just putting it in this extremely-small-circulation agent's pamphlet?

The explanation that the bio was simply something cobbled together by someone at A&D makes more sense.

Perhaps. But, no doubt trusting his agent's instincts about making him seem exotic and cool, he did nothing to correct the little white lie.

I note, in your first clip, his daddy, who was a worthless drunk, gets promoted from staff economist to finance minister. LOL!

In your second clip, a legible version of which can be seen here, he disdains the suburbs and claims to have attended public school in Hawaii. False! He attended Hawaii's most exclusive private school. Obviously, he thought it served his image better to have gone to public school like the hoi polloi.

‘The explanation that the bio was simply something cobbled together by someone at A&D makes more sense.’

It only makes sense to Obots, who will believe any explanation so long as it makes Obama look good.

For example, if Acton and Dystel were such incompetent morons that they couldn’t even get their clients’ most basic, important facts right, then they must have screwed up quite a few bios, right?

Nope; they got them all right. They were, in fact, very competent and accurate.

But of course, in the world of Obots, ‘it only happened to Obama’ is the staple excuse. Look how many times they use it.

Where’s the long list of authors Acton and Dystel paid not one but two large advances to to write a nonfiction book ***based*** on the ‘mistake’ in their bio?

There isn’t any other such author; it only happened to Obama.

Where’s the long list of people born in HI with CN SS#s.

There isn’t one; it only happened to Obama.

About how many prominent Hawaiians did Abercrombie say he could find no BC? That there was no evidence the person was even born in HI?

It only happened to Obama.

How many people actually born in HI believe the state is located in Asia?

Only Obama.

How many people who were even born in the USA, much less HI, believe there are 60 states?

Only Obama.

How many people’s BCs list ‘African’ as a race?

Only Obama’s.

How many people’s draft registration card lists only two digits for the year?

Only Obama’s.

About how many POTUSs is it entirely unknown where their mother was living when she birthed him?

Only Obama.

How many prominent American politicians have gotten confused about the date of their own birthday?

Only Obama.

How many US politicians have wives who claim their memoir was written by a notorious domestic terrorist?

Only Obama.

About how many US politicians has a foreign National Assembly claimed he was born in their country?

This has only been claimed, multiple times, about Obama.

How many ‘born in the USA’ politicians have, in their background, multiple media sources that list their birth as foreign?

Only Obama.

How many US politicians’ wives have referred to a foreign country as their husband’s “homeland”?

This has only happened to Obama.

How many US politicians, who claim their parents were married, have wives who describe their mother as “very young and very single” at the time of their birth?

This only happened to Obama.

This list could go on and on. The point is, Obots will accept an unlimited number of ‘it only happened to Obama’s, and act like there is nothing unusual about it. The rational, thinking part of their brains is fried. They can no longer reason. If they could, they would add up all the items in this list and realize that there are too many issues to explain with the flip catch-all, ‘it only happened to Obama.’
