I am familiar with KWS.
I've watched that clip of SRV a number of times.
I wish they would have held the focal point so that you could watch his hands better.
I have a wide range of musical interests. Always enjoy a good guitar technician, usually in just about any genre.
Also, in the genre of SRV, KWS and Jonny Lang, there was Jeff Healey.
Most people know him strictly from the movie Road House. But he was more than just someone who had a bit in a movie.
Shame he's gone.
Back to KWS, he kind of reminded me of Robin Trower https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wzcteihsckw
Thanks, never given Trower much thought but from that clip I should have and will explore more.
Quite agree about Healey.
Another I miss is Randy California. Saw him live only once and was impressed.
I don’t have enough understanding of a good technician, my music talents are nil so I pretty much I know what I like and I like it.
I’ll leave you with what is probably my favorite bit ever: Albert King and SRV. I never met SRV so it’s hard to say for sure but he seemed to be a nice guy and I read some respect in how he looked at King when he was playing. That impresses me.
Kings style of play just blew my mind not only from the sound but how he did it. Maybe it’s not that big of a deal but a flying V upside down left handed and maybe detuned for loose strings. Or something.
