Abide by the contract or sell and move out.
Or negotiate a new contract.

If the HOA is breaking the contract, sue.

In some towns it’s tough to buy a home in a decent part of town that isn’t in an HOA.

I would agree with you. Nobody forces anyone to live in a subdivision, and the HOA agreement has to be presented to any buyer before the purchase.

Good points! I would also add, Get on the HOA board and change things from within.
