What they mean when they say "catholic" they mean to say "inclusive" and that God is the patron of "diversity" in the world:
Marquette University’s objectives are understood against the backdrop of our Catholic, Jesuit mission and vision. Because Catholicism at its best seeks to be inclusive, Marquette is open to all who share its mission and seek the truth about God and the world. Academic freedom is the necessary precondition for that search, and accordingly Marquette welcomes and benefits enormously from the diversity of s eekers within our ranks, even as we freely choose and celebrate our own Catholic identity.

We know the left is fascist, but it’ll be interesting to see how the RCC responds to this.

Watch out for deans “interested in structure/function studies of metalloenzymes, which includes the design, synthesis, and characterization of small molecules that function as potent inhibitors” and publish “more than 90 research articles on biological inorganic chemistry.” They may have other para-potencies.

Abbate is not a professor. She’s a GTA. That might be part of the problem.

ALinasky would use their own words against them, to make them live up to them.

Do their recruitment materials say anything about a learning environment, free to explore alternative thoughts, etc.

As official publications, they can be used in the lawsuit against the university.

And this is why there is a push for free universal post high school education.

It gives a guaranteed income for costs for Communist breeding grounds for minting new students who will have their minds warped as they enter the workforce and adulthood.

All in the guise of better opportunities.

In the last 30 years every type of organization has undergone a restructuring to make them more efficient, except for two: government and higher education.

Time to make these ivory tower types meet the real world.

The professor should retain a legal *team*, and file a truly enormous lawsuit against the university, definitely before they fire him.

He needs to be fired first. Otherwise he has no damage claim, and so no basis for a lawsuit.

No diversity of speech allowed at the uni versity. They escaped abortion, only to have their thoughts slaughtered by totalitarians. The enslavement of thought and enslavement by debt runs rampant at the uni versity.

The notice of intent they sent him is good enough for standing. Plus in this case, it is much easier to fight the system from within, than outside. Within, he can demand that the process follow the rules to the letter; and as I said before, hopefully the universities lawyers will suspend the process while the litigation is ongoing.

You remember how difficult it was for the University of Colorado to fire Ward Churchill? And that was with an iron clad case against him.

Marquette has no legitimate reason to fire this professor, and it all depends on how obstinate and oppressive they want to be how many millions they are going to have to fork over.

His lawyers can also rally Marquette alumni, to stop paying the school, using the double argument that conservatives don’t want them to do this, and liberals do not want their donations to be paid as a legal settlement with this professor.

Wrongful termination and a whole host of constitutional issues should net this professor an early retirement where he can be free to join conservatives in challenging homo fascists on any of their attacks on Christians and persons choosing to exercise their 1st Amendment rights.

You don’t even have to have the wrong opinion now. All you have to do is say that someone has the right to a non-pc opinion and you are fired.

There is no free speech in the USA.

Isn’t Marquette supposed to be a Catholic University?

Because we have allowed government to define “marriage” for its own purposes (such as taxation and regulation of estates), we have allowed government to define marriage as a social institution. That was fine as long as people in control of government were generally supportive of God’s original definition of marriage. However we have entered a time when a growing number of people in control of government want to redefine marriage for their own purposes, which in part is contrary to God’s definition.

Marriage is now far more a matter of politics and ideology than of private religious beliefs.

Therefore, for the sake of marriage as God defines it, it is time to remove from government the power to define who is married and who is not. Then people could form whatever relationships they please but they could not force those who disagree to be enablers for those relationships. And we would not have schools that must teach that homosexual “marriages” are just as legitimate as heterosexual ones. Nor would we have owners of wedding-related services being threatened with arrest and being convicted of a crime for merely declining to artfully photograph a “marriage” they find morally repugnant.

There is no free speech in the USA.

The right to free speech is a restriction on what government can do to those who speak up. As a private institution, these restrictions do no apply to Marquette University. However, Marguette University's policies and adherence to the principles of academic freedom seem to be under a fatal assault. German universities enthusiastically embraced Nazism back in the thirties, so I believe that we can expect universities to adhere to their principles only when it is convenient for them to do so.

And from over on the Vegan Feminist Network dot com - “A vegan community valuing intersectionality and anti-oppression outreach” - a Cheryl Abbate, a philosophy PhD student at Marquette University, posts about Dualistic Thinking in the Animal Protection Movement: A Problem for Sentience Based Accounts.

The disclaimer on the Vegan Feminist Network states, in part:

“Most of the content of this site is concerned with dismantling systems of oppression. We are cautious of personal “agency” and “choice” in human
behavior and “individualism” in collective action.”

That could be the problem right there! Choice and individualism.

According to what I’ve read of the mission statements of the various departments at Marquette, the giveaway phrase for Marxists “social justice” is a stated objective.
