It’s deeper than that.
Reblogging is a plague.
You have bloggers stealing copyrighted material wholesale and then in serial fashion, stealing it from each other - in this case four times!.
Let’s assume that Washington Post is an “excerpt only” site. (I don’t offhand know, but let’s just assume.)
By allowing this chain of repeated copy theft to end up here, FreeRepublic becomes accessory after the fact, but nonetheless liable for damages arising from infringement.
This means cash out of the coffers - which is actually the money we donate - going down the drain for legal fees and possibly damages.
While clutter is annoying, it’s nothing compared to the mess from having stolen material as the source of the clutter.
Someone is pulling my chain...
That’s a paddlin’.
You've posted 2500 threads. Or even 2500 responses?
I don't think anyone really knows.......They're like ninjas who hide in the shadows.
YOU don't have a turntable? Get with it, man!
I’ve seen those advertized. Tempting. Thanks. It’s kind of like this:
I’d do so much, you’d be surprised, if I could just get organized.
;oD
Yes it is. I must warn my sister to hide the cheese as there is a moose on the loose..............
I agree, if a reason is given then one knows not to do again.

The reason for the thread being pulled is never the reason you think it is.
He's in Thailand with Quidam.
Because in response to a story later posted by others the Muslims were asking Clint Eastwood to stop the violence, Eastwood made a comment about them stopping the violence. And I responded that Clint Eastwood ought to tell them to go F**K themselves and their goats.
So it was deleted.
Often ,very often you’ll find commenters making posts that are vulgar by itself but we at FR know what it means and don’t talk it seriously. Like FUBO, or words like that that. My comment was made against people who live by the sword where killing is part of their life and other heinous , horrific crimes. So telling Muslims to go Fook themsleves and their goats isn’t so very terrible to hear or read at FR.
So I immediately rewrote the post, it was 3 AM or something like that I wrote a very sincere and heartfelt apology promising never again to use those words. And responded by saying Clint Eastwood was telling them to stop the killing as well. That’s all I said after apologizing.
But that wasn’t good enough. The moderator immediately pulled the thread a second time. The next day he explained that he deleted the first post about Clint Eastwood because it was vulgar and then purported to say that the second post about the Washington Post was posted incorrectly. But I never wrote any post about the Washington Post.
I never wrote a post about the Washington Post. That was an outright lie. And I saved both posts just to be sure. But by some coincidence, all my history was erased. Which never happens. I surmised that somehow the moderator has the power to delete anyone’s history so I couldn’t prove that the Washington post history he concocted was true and he did that in order to lie about the second post from the Washington Post being deleted. Why wouldn’t I try to post the story again about Clint Eastwood if the response was civil and courteous as it was?
So, I told the Moderator that I knew he lied because I kept both deleted posts and said that the reason he did so was because he didn’t like a post I made earlier in another thread. So while i always do in fact let it go, the fact that he lied and as I surmised because he was angry, I told him exactly how I felt
.
But h told me the exact reason which was a lie.
You answered someone else’s question, not mine.
Mine was something along the lines of, why not just let it go, accept that if you are a heavy poster (2500 threads), then there might be an occasional thread pulled.
Just. Let. It. Go.
What’s wrong with that?
