My wife and I moved back to Alabama from her home in Seattle 9 years ago. It was the best thing we could have done. Says my wife. She lived in Seattle most of her life and could not wait to get out of that cess pool. It is the liberal and homo capital of the country, along with San Francisco. There are very, very, very few conservatives in the area. We lived in Bremerton which was across Puget Sound from Seattle. We rode the ferry to and from work every day. That cost us both over $1,200 each in ferry ticket money each year. Plus the cost of parking each month at the ferry terminal. Very expensive area to live in. If your daughter thinks she is going to a conservative area, wrong. 98% of Seattle is liberal, homo approving, Obama, Algore loving dimocrats. We are so happy that we finally got out of that dump. I refuse to go back to even visit. She still has family up there and has flown back to visit a couple of times, but not me. Once I left, I left. So, myself, I would fight my kid to keep them from living there or any other liberal hell hole.

Yeah, you have summed up my concerns. No place is perfect, but seems liberals are now becoming leftists and radicals....they can really screw up wonderful towns/states...I know this because I live in one :(

One of sons works in San Jose—not sure if they are liberal or libertarian, but it’s not conservative. Soo one out of three kids is in the Bible belt :)

I don’t know if I could “fight” her, but my goal is going to be to present some valid concerns—and pros and cons, etc. She went to Mexico City this summer for a wedding—I put up a vanity and lots of concerns and criticism—actually people strongly implied I was a bad parent if I let her go. Well, we went over all the concerns and safety issues. She went and had a wonderful chance of a lifetime trip to see a dear friend get married—beautiful formal wedding—they really know how to throw a party down there BTW. So I am hesitant to come down too hard/fight her—but wherever she ends up, she has to be smart about it...But thanks for your thoughts—I am hoping she goes to visit her brother in Texarkana and falls in love with the south (tho the whole immigrant issue has me concerned about TX)—she has never been to the South, but she loves country music :)

Thanks for your input.
