How unkind to President Nixon. Nixon had talent. And he was brilliant. He could give an impromptu speech with zero notes and without saying um, um, um, uh, uh, um, uh, I don’t recall.

A left of center democrat friend of mine even says Nixon was a good President.

Please read the post before you comment. Maureen Dowd of the New York Times made the comparison. I was simply applying the title. And I agree, the comparison is uncharitable to Nixon (which I wrote).

Ironically, if I recall correctly, Hillary once stated that the one thing she learned, while serving on the legal staff of the House studying the impeachment of Nixon, was you can avoid perjury by stating I can't recall.

Unknown person- Hilldabeast, did you announce your intent to run for President today?
Hilldabeast- I do not recall.
Unknown person- You are not in front of a Congressional Committee.
Hilldabeast- Then yes, I did.

I am beginning to think the Dems forced her to declare this early so that when she tanks, it’s not too late for them to insert another ‘frontrunner’ (Lizzie Warren?).

True, but the worst thing you can to a Democrat is compare them to Nixon. Nixon definitely was one of the most intelligent men to serve as president. Hillary can’t even hold a candle to him, but since her party detests him so much the best way to piss them off is to compare her to him.

For left of center people who are not fixated on the Republican label, Nixon was a good President. Their only real complaint is that he insisted on trying to get out of Vietnam somewhat honorably instead of grandly on the day of his inauguration turning the whole place over to the Communists then sending reparations. The whole Watergate thing was because of that label fixation. He didn’t belong to the right group.

If you are not a leftist politician you won’t get that by the judge or the jury. If you are a leftist politician it absolves you. It isn’t just acquittal; it is exoneration.

The first string is weak.
There is no second string.
The hey are trying hard to gin up a third string. They may have to settle for Jeb Bush.
