Who wants to live forever? I’ve lived a darned good life and I’m too blessed to be stressed. Heck if I’d want to live post SHTF, scavenging cans of dog food and the like...

I love the scene in “The Road Warrior” where Max and his dog are wandering through the wasteland and finally sit down to take a break. Max looks over at his dog, shrugs, and finally digs out a can of dog food from his pack. He works the can opener, pops the lid off it — and eats the contents. When he’s done, he tosses the can to the dog, who licks the inside.

Well the idea is you train yourself so you won’t have to do that.

You either prepare and stand on your own beholden to no one or you become dependent on others to provide your basic needs and become their ‘serf’. Me I don’t want to be beholden to anyone for providing what is needed for me and mine. I certainly don’t want to have to kiss some ‘gubberment’ third class bureaucratic to try and coax some help from them, I don’t want some ‘jack booted’ thug herding me in line and telling me where to stand, sit, eat or sleep. And last but not least I don’t want to be shut up in with a bunch of ‘zombies’ and have to worry about not only trying to get basic necessities but having to fight to keep what I manage to get.

I just wonder how many could accoplish half of what Our great great grand parents did? They managed to tame a continent with far less than the average person has today without prepping.
