More than the police politicians need to wear body cameras

Washington has a new answer to growing concerns about police brutality: body cameras.

After a series of controversial -- and deadly -- confrontations between law enforcement officers and minorities, the Department of Justice is launching a $20 million pilot program to implement body cameras nationwide. The department will spend another $1 million to study the impact of cameras. Meanwhile, cameras are being backed by members of both parties, with Democratic presidential contender Hillary Clinton calling them a tool to "increase transparency and accountability." In March, Sen. Rand Paul, a GOP presidential candidate, and several Democrats introduced a bill to establish a similar grant program for body cameras.

It would seem that police are portrayed as dangerous and unaccountable. More dangerous that the police, are the politicians who boss around the police and put them in impossible situations.

Here is an idea. What if the mayor, police chief, and the state's attorney Marilyn Mosby were required to wear body cameras at all times while conducting any kind of official business. Wouldn't it have been great had they worn body cameras since and before the riots started.

They need to be made accountable more so than the police. These politicians impose lethal force but hide in the tall weeds. Wouldn't be great if they were all required to wear body cameras? We sure would have learned quite a bit more.

The politicians need to be held accountable 1000 times more than the cops. They are the ones creating the conditions for riots and violence. The police have to clean up the politicians' messes. What an incredible idea this is. If there was a mass movement for body cameras for the politicians, the move for body cameras would totally disappear. I simply cannot believe the politicians are so arrogant. They are the ones who need supervision more than the cops a 1000 times more.

Start with the police. Expand as required.

Or don't you want cameras on the police?

I know it will never happen, but I view the polticians as the real criminal here not the cops.

It would have been great to see a recording of the leadership of the City of Baltimore and what they said and did if they had worn body cameras.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if society viewed the activities of politicians as more dangerous than that of police and required them to wear body cameras. I bet government would start working a lot better.

After seeing the idiot on the street break down in tears after watching the cops gun down the guy who wasn’t shot, I’m not so sure some citizens shouldn’t be forced to wear them.

I am watching a CNN roundtable panel of idiots anchored by Anderson cooper. It is all about police accountability and the mother of the man killed in Baltimore is on it. She says at one point something like at a time when police are killing more and more black people, black parents need to warn their children how to act around police.

This is a totally false statement and ignorant at that. O’Reilly a few weeks ago said that last year less than 150 black people were killed by black people and abut 4 times more whites were killed by police and that those figures had been going down; yet Anderson Cooper let this woman broadcast that we live in an era where police are killing more and more black people.

CNN is disseminating totally false information for what? Rating?

Sorry meant to say less than 150 black people were killed by police out of a black population of 40 million.

You are tight.

They need a graphic showing number of innocent blacks killed by cops vs number of innocent blacks killed by blacks. Then number of total blacks killed by cops vs by other blacks. Then number of blacks killed by whites, vs by other blacks. It would clearly show blacks are overwhelmingly killing each other, not hardly anyone else.

But facts dont mater when they refute a liberal playbook agenda.

Expect huge time lapses where the cameras are non-functioning
