CHICAGO - Presidential candidate U.S. Senator Ted Cruz will be visiting Chicago for a $1,000/head lunch on Monday. The visit comes on the heels of recent news that Cruz has started to surge in the early primary states.
Cruz swept all five official straw polls in South Carolina, saw big gains in Iowa among conservatives, and has reeled in major conservative backers in New Hampshire.
Cruz also appears to be winning the "money primary", significantly outstripping his competitors. Groups backing Cruz raised $31 million in a single week in April, and Cruz has raised money at a significantly faster rate than Romney four years ago.
In addition to the fundraising luncheon, Cruz is also doing a smaller event for backers of the Chicago Republican Party.
"We're grateful for the Senator's help," said Chris Cleveland, the new Chairman of the Chicago GOP, "and we're gratified that the Senator understands the importance of backing Republican organizations in America's cities."
Registration for the event is available here.

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldnt make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan |

Entering the Lions Den; the Chicago liberal machine will be in attack mode, however Cruz the Lion Tamer is known to command and soothe the savage beast.

And yet, in sooo many articles I see listing the candidates, he is often left out. At some point it becomes transparent.

Ted Cruz will be visiting Chicago .... Only for the contributions. Truth be told, I wouldn't want Chicago's blood money. Or money from any blue city stronghold. Its not worth it.

They will leave Cruz out for as long as possible and push lukewarm candidates, like Bush, Carson, and Rubio down our throats. Next step will be to try and give him limited exposure in the debates, I hope they don’t succeed.

Well Jesus went to comfort the lepers.
I’m sure there are plenty of conservatives trapped in liberal Chi-town.
Ted has a way of cutting through the media fog when he speaks directly to the people. May he turn Illinois red at the ballot box rather than just the budget or streets.
