Just buy fresh roasted beans - they are just about everywhere now.
A&P was selling fresh beans back in the '50s - been around for a long time.
Grind them yourself - specialized coffee grinders are everywhere and cheap.
1 - 11/2 spoons per cup and then brew it.
Don't buy foo-foo blended flavored "coffee."

Yes, i just buy a bag of whole bean coffee, grind a bit in the morning in my little electric grinder, and stick it in my coffee maker.

Get the beans green. Pour a cup into a popcorn popper for about 8 minutes, until you hear the beans crack a second time. Let them rest a day or so.

Yes we grind our beans daily. We buy a good reasonably priced bean called Don Pablo at Costco. Very tasty.
