Biker Shootout: Libs Going Wacko over Race in Waco

Guilty of using lies that have evoked hatred, fomented racial unrest, sparked riots, caused property destruction and led to innocent people's deaths. Guilty of gross malpractice and, by proxy, murder. Guilty of being destroyers of civilization

Leftists are upset about what they view as a double standard with respect to the Baltimore/Ferguson affair and the recent Waco gang shootout. They’re right, too—there sure is a double standard.

And, as usual, it’s their own.

Consider, for example, an Associated Press piece by one Jesse J. Holland titled “Differing perceptions of Waco, Baltimore bothering some.” Holland starts out writing that the “prevailing images of protests in Baltimore and Ferguson, Missouri, over police killings of black men were of police in riot gear, handcuffed protesters, tear gas and mass arrests. The main images of a fatal gun battle between armed bikers and police in Waco, Texas, also showed mass arrests—carried out by nonchalant-looking officers sitting around calm bikers on cellphones.” The idea is that while the black thugs in Baltimore and Ferguson received harsh treatment and coverage, the primarily white thugs in Waco were, relatively speaking, handled with kid gloves.

How about this hypothetical scenario:

Two outlaw biker gangs clash in parking lot, stray rounds fired by them kill two diners in nearby Don Carlos restaurant, while cops watch from the perimeter.

Loud outcry from the 250,000 residents of greater Waco, “Why did police wait so long, to shoot? Why didn’t you do something? We don’t pay you to watch as innocent bystanders get murdered by known criminals, over some juvenile grudge game they play from time to time. Why did you even let them into town?”

Whatever the police do, it is with aimed at striking the right balance between possibly conflicting “rights.”

It appears that the Banditos may have “lured” the Cossacks into an ambush.

Considering a clash between two outlaw motorcycle clubs, gang, groups versus a town of families, children, businesses, etc. I come down on the side of a law enforcement contingent stepping in to at least contain violence, and minimize the possible harm to innocents.

I’m not considering a straw man argument. You’re imputing I’d defend the police standing by during a violent shootout, which is stupid.

We have no objective information that the gang members did _anything_ warranting a shot, much less 9 dead (I’m not contending there wasn’t, but in absence of _any_ evidence, all we have is apparently groundless shootings). I’m hoping there is justification, but significant time has passed and we haven’t heard _anything_ when usually the DA would be quick to announce justification (say, that the Banditos lured the Cossacks into an ambush).

We have certain constitutionally-established laws in effect. The police can’t tell people - felons included - they can’t eat at a restaurant or otherwise gather peacefully in public. The police can’t start shooting people without actionable evidence of threat of grave bodily harm. The police can’t “not let them into town”.

Of course I support police stepping in to at least contain violence, and minimize the possible harm to innocents.
Problem is, there’s no indication yet that was the case ... and the growing passage of time, without intervening commentary from the LEO & DA agencies involved, is _not_ a good sign.

“How about this hypothetical scenario:...”

Or you could just make a reference to Baltimore. “Give them room....”

There is no evidence the police did anything wrong.

There is a tremendous amount of information and evidence to be sort out.

I can wait for the information to be made public.

I predict that then, some poster here will claim coverup.

But there are still people claiming the earth is flat, created 10000 yrs. ago, fluoride is a conspiracy and harms us, there was no holocaust, no moon landing, we don’t need vaccines, etc, etc.

” Or you could just make a reference to Baltimore. “Give them room....”

Thanks for the assist. That is sort of what I was saying.

My 67 years of life have taught me to use common sense, observe the reality around me.

As I stated in another thread, I have known many bikers for 50 years. My BIL and SIL rode to Sturgis a fews years back. One of my coworkers and her husband ride quite a lot. He is a retired Air Force pilot.

But those people were not members of outlaw clubs. The Banditos and Cossacks are openly and notoriously outlaw clubs.

I find it pretty ridiculous that somebody calls a stray bullet from a brawl and guns being shot in the parking lot, a “straw man.”

It DID happen, but fortunately this time nobody got hit by what will probably turn out to be Bandito’s guns.

“They weren’t all shot by police, unless the cops were undercover wearing Bandidos MC gear.

At least one Cossack was killed execution-style in front of his young son by a Bandido who walked up and shot him twice in the head.”
*****************************************************************************************************
Do you have a FACTUAL link with this “information”? Or are you relying on a Washington Post hit-piece “quoting” an unknown/anonymous source who CLAIMED to be there?

Use your God given critical thinking abilities when you read things...you’ll be less likely to fall into the trap of believing things some liberal agendanistas want to mislead you into believing.

“...They made it easy for LE, since they came together, wearing their uniforms, and committed their act right in full view....”

And exactly what specific “act” did the 200 dead, wounded and jailed (with each having a bond at a level that few could afford, so they are stuck in jail American citizens commit “right in full view”?

“There is no evidence the police did anything wrong.”

9 dead, no explanation.
