Which could be all well and good, considering the volume of other storylines that need to be addressed. Similar to how Bran’s story wasn’t featured in season 5, to allow others to catch up. Could be that Winds of Winter doesn’t even address the issue until much later in the book.
I’d also assumed his ‘rebirth’ would be immediate....that could also not be the case. Reference Lady StoneHeart as an example of a long-expected rebirth.
