Like most government programs, the “Gun Free Zone” program hinders that which it purports to enhance, and enhances that which it purports to hinder.

One can point out the folly of gun-free zones without weakening the argument with hyperbole. It is almost certainly not the case that Gun-Free zones are becoming the main place where anyone has to worry about getting shot. Certain neighborhoods in major cities, which have not been designated at “Gun-Free zones” have a much higher incidence of gunshot wounds and deaths from gunfire. Of course, those who are not compelled by circumstance to live in those neighborhoods tend to avoid them.

A post office was robbed recently not far from me. Nice no gun sticker on their doors in Illinois.

Gun free zones like confiscatory gun laws are a joke because the criminals or terrorists don’t abide by those restrictions and will take their guns and do as they please. A gun free zone just means that a criminal or terrorist can expect no armed resistance from those they find there. It seems lost in the media that many of the mass killings at schools and theaters were done in gun free zones. Those little signs sure help keep people safe.

Under what constitutional authority does any entity have the right to negate my Second Amendment rights any time or any where? As far as that goes why do state laws usurp Federally guaranteed constitutional rights? If any other other constitutional right, such as the libs bastions First or Fourth amendments were under attack what woul be their reaction?

They should be called Defenseless Persons Zones.

the mention of the AZ free speech rally highlights the lack of media coverage. No blood, no story is the rule.

Of course, I don’t have a tv so my impression may be off.
