Racial motive expressed?

I don’t even know what to say in the course of presenting news like this. I suppose we just wait to learn what - if anything - might have been the motivation of the 21-year-old mass murderer. We don’t know if he knew anyone there or had any sort of connection to the church or the pastor. We don’t even know who he is, at least not for sure, as he remains at large. We just know he walked in and opened fire, and now nine people are dead, including the pastor, who was also a South Carolina state senator.

Pray for the families of the victims at Emanuel AME, and for those who now have the heartbreaking job of raising this church from the ashes of this evil:

Among the dead was the church’s pastor, state Sen. Clementa Pinckney, 41, who had been a pastor since he was 18. Pinckney was the youngest African-American elected to the South Carolina legislature when he won office in 1996 at age 23 and had been a state senator since 2000.

Soon after Wednesday night’s shooting, a group of pastors huddled together praying in a circle across the street. Community organizer Christopher Cason told the Associated Press he felt certain the shootings were racially motivated.

But he might well kill them if he hates Christians. Or is a Muslim. Or Gay. But whatever he is, it isn’t a racist.

I'm going with the "Gay" angle. That train conductor that derailed that train is "Gay". That German airline pilot that crashed his plane into the ground was reported to also be "Gay". Most of the Serial killers in our history were "Gay".

I'm betting it's the normal expression of homosexual murderous rage at people who say their lifestyle is sinful.

One of these articles mentions his father gave him a .45 handgun for his birthday. Probably the weapon he used.

Given all the other numerals are two digits (06 for example), I would imagine the first number is supposed to be 17, but the 1 did not come through on the picture for some reason. 17/06/2015, which would correspond to June 17th. Also, July 7, 2015 does not fall on a Wednesday.

I would guess it started out just blinking so they pushed some buttons to get it to stop.
Not what I would recommend, given the number of times these cameras show suspects. But, IIRC, there was an issue like this back in the Simpson trial days. Cops own camera was mis-set.

I don’t know if he’s mentally ill or not. I do know that docs, with parental permission, write scripts for mild altering drugs at younger and younger ages. Depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, etc. A doc once offered us Ritalin for our four year old. We no longer use this doc, obviously.
