BOOM ! Our suspicions were 100% accurate in the review of all prior information coming from the released details.

An “accidental” self-induced injury stemming from Freddie Gray standing, not being seat-belted; and as a consequence of the van moving/stopping, Freddie Gray impacting the wall of the transport van. Also including the presence of opiates and cannabinoid within his toxicology report.

Did the M.E. say the seizure was the result of an elevated level of heroin, as opposed to, say, his injuries?

Quit just making ups things and embellishing things.

There were no witnesses as he was riding alone when he was injured, they didn’t travel 7mph, you have no idea how much heroin was in his system, Donta Allen wasn’t picked up until the fifth stop, you keep posting details that aren’t accurate.

“Police had said in a court filing that the second passenger reported hearing Gray banging and kicking through the metal divider before the fifth stop. Allan said that would not have been possible given Gray’s injuries, but he may have been suffering a seizure at the time, which could have caused the noise, she said.”

Allan is the M.E.

There was a third passenger who was already in the van when Gray was picked up. His identity is being protected by the police department.

Trust me here... If you allowed your kid to ride in the back of your truck without being buckled in and (God forbid) he died as a result, you would be charged with homicide of one variety or another.

That's true, because there are laws against doing that.

My recollection from a ways back is that restraining an arrestee in a van had been an official Baltimore PD policy for all of three (3) days when Gray suffered his fatal injury. And it hadn't been disseminated widely yet.

If the cops can show that they had not been notified of the policy change, they stand a very good chance of walking. Heck, the details of the tox report clearly point to malicious prosecution by the State's Attorney so they might be able to get the charges dismissed before going to trial (depends on the judge), or if convicted walk free on appeal.

Police had said in a court filing that the second passenger reported hearing Gray banging and kicking through the metal divider before the fifth stop. Allan said that would not have been possible given Gray’s injuries, but he may have been suffering a seizure at the time, which could have caused the noise, she said.

But:

The medical examiner concluded that Gray’s most significant injury was to the lower left part of his head. Given the descriptions of his demeanor and positioning in the van, it most likely occurred after the second and before fourth stops made by the van driver, and possibly before the third stop, according to the autopsy.

In other words, the convulsing you are referring to took place AFTER he was injured, and therefore (a) had nothing to do with causing the injury, and (b) may have in fact been caused BY the injury.

I don’t think the M.E. can rule out heroin overdose causing his symptoms unless the levels when the autopsy is finally released indicate otherwise. Wait for the autopsy.

“If the cops can show that they had not been notified of the policy change”

Policy is not law and has nothing to do with it...

The M. E. will be in trouble on cross examination. The passenger in the van contradicts her based on what he heard. The M.E. was not in the van. The passenger was. The M.E. is trying to reconstruct events. She is not a witness to them.

Why don’t you wait for some information, you are just spewing all kinds of sloppy ideas, as facts.

When you put cuffs on somebody you own them, even if they break free from your grasp and jump in front of a train.

Now obviously the charges against the officers are way out of line with the facts. Even if the initial arrest was false (which it wasn't) the facts don't support charging the arresting officers. They helped place the deceased in the vehicle, but he was subsequently removed from the vehicle, had additional restraints placed on him and was put back in the vehicle. How could the arresting officers be held accountable for that? Using the State's Atorney's logic they would be charged with homicide if another inmate at the jail had killed him with a shiv.

What I mean the cops aren’t going to jail with the hard evidence against the prosecution.

Yeah, Obama will move onto the next manufactured crisis or faux controversy.

For Pete’s sake. I posted page 3 of an article. I can’t help it if you don’t want to go read the entire article.

I get the impression that you aren’t going to be happy about the facts that are presented in court either.

Tell me one thing I have posted as fact that wasn’t true. I have a right to my opinion as much as you or anyone else. I try to base that opinion on accumulated facts.

I will repeat what I said before. conservative treehouse makes a habit of citing a source and then adding lots of other statements, dressed as facts, which are not mentioned in the article. The result of which gives the impression that the cited source, The Sun, made all of those statements. In this case the impression given is that The Sun article made all of the “analysis” of the stated timeline. The Sun article did not do that. It dealt with possible modes of injury.

I said and still say the idiot ran and rammed his head into the back door.

...

Yep. Especially since he was faking a neck injury before they put him into the van. He was trying to give himself a real one and then claim the cops did it.

Any halfway decent lawyer will tear the prosecution’s case to shreds.

I had heard that the directive to put prisoners in a seat belt was just enacted in the dept. and not all officers had been informed or instructed about it. Wonder if that’s true?
