Agreed, but that's not going to happen without a change of thought, which usually only comes due to necessity, which usually requires pain.

Unfortunately, given the nature of humans, especially those conditioned to misread the negative feedback (pain) the world gives in abundance when one violates its rules, I suspect we'll take the long way home to sanity.

As a side note, the one thing I've noticed about the science fiction/science fantasy of my youth is how predictive it has been of our now, especially so about Star Wars, believe it or not.

Given some of the stuff I read, this continues to be a source of fascination and now a growing fear.
