One of the cable channels that shows old movies played the 1962 movie that predicts Obama last night, with Angela Lansbury playing the Valerie Jarrett role.

(In case I am being too obscure, the movie is The Manchurian Candidate.)

I haven’t seen that version. Although I didn’t like it that much the first time I saw it, the 2004 version grew on me so much that I eventually bought it. It is libs obviously going after Bush but if you watch carefully, they’re accidentally predicting much of their own future.

Meryl Streep is obviously doing her Hillary Clinton impersonation.

I've only seen the original version with Frank Sinatra, Laurence Harvey, Angela Lansbury, Janet Leigh, etc. Angela Lansbury plays the wife of a senator who seems to be closely modeled on Joseph McCarthy.

The movie also has some fascinating information about hydrangeas.

I had to watch the remake at least 2 or 3 times. There is even a scene where there’s a little joke. When the major goes into the library to research some of his “tinfoil” information there’s an Elvis-looking guy sitting there, too.

Jon Voight was really good as well.

But there was a definite angle by the left. That’s why Al Franken is cast as a “reporter” - nontheless, the blind devotion to a warm-and-fuzzy-talking politician was nothing short of prophetic.

They probably still cannot see the forest for the trees.
