Well, the European Royal families, that of Britain too are all connected; either by blood or by marriage. Not necessarily to Nazis or Nazi sympathizers, but certainly related to German royalty, nobility or aristocracy, included in those some who were married to Nazis.
Today although Germany is a Republic, you’ll find more nobility, royalty and aristocracy in Germany, by bloodlines, from bygone decades, than many other countries in Europe.
Probably, this issue is being highlighted following the recent State visit by the Queen and Prince Phillip to Germany.
The Queen & basically the House of Windsor have a direct German heritage - “Windsor” is an adopted name; originally, Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (a branch of the House of Wettin) was changed to the English Windsor, due to the anti-German sentiment in the British Empire during World War I.
The Queen from her father’s side is German. Prince Phillip more so, and speaks fluent German. I understand 2 of his sisters were actually married to high ranking Nazis.
In Europe at least, the above are well-known, very public facts. Anyhow, none of the above means the Queen, her parents, or Prince Phillip were Nazi sympathizers.
