Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I was born a female..(I checked on my birth certificate just to be sure)
but I don’t want a female president..
I want a leader, a statesman, an American who loves our country and will defend us from enemies foreign and domestic and foreign in our domestic borders illegally..
whether man or woman it mattereth not ...
but other then Gov Sarah Palin, and maybe Michele Bachmann, there have been no qualified women running for POTUS or VP in my life time to date...
I’ve never considered this female presidential material..
Carly set HP on a new course by buying Compact...
That would be Compaq. And I, for one, am still bitter about the hold Alphacide -> Compaq -> HP -> Bangalore thing. Not *all* of it is her fault, mind you, but still.
It does for me too. I find that alcohol and/or burying yourself in work helps.
The diversity thing runs head to head with the reality that not all “people groups” are interested in the idea of merit that began with white-bourgeois corporate America.
This is a zeal that sounds like it is trying to ape literal evangelical zeal (”that all peoples may be saved”) except it’s not even trying to reach and teach all peoples, it is bowing down to the fact that they aren’t mainstream as if that were some guarantor of wisdom.
How did reason ever get short circuited here. There isn’t a clear goal; there is only feel-goodism.
Smile to yourself, say “sure, sure” and then keep on attempting to do things the normal way as long as possible.
She doesn’t say that women must be hired in equal numbers to men. You’d have more credibility if you didn’t misrepresent her statements.
The word “diversity” has been misused as badly as the word “racism” and both are becoming meaningless. If you’re looking for sound judgement you might do better to be able draw from the experience of a group of individuals whose professional background covers a broad range of disciplines rather than to rely on the advise of a group of children that all look different.
I watched that part of the interview, and she seemed to be saying the reverse - that, if you have a "true meritocracy," you'll naturally have a "diverse" workforce.
For the record, I have no idea whether I'd vote for her or not. But I do know I'll never want an HP printer again, based on my experience with the one I have.
Affirmative action hire Carly Fiorina destroyed Lucent and Hewlett Packard. No way I would vote for her.
You sure? I thought she did say essentially that.
Just curious, who is Don Joy and his blog and why should anyone care what he has to say?
HP printer I had was a piece of junk!
Carley was such a disaster at HP they sang “Ding, Dong the with is dead” the day they walked her out door.
I think Fiorina knows she has no chance at the top spot, but the VP slot, that’s a good possibility.
I have not liked her at all, based on interviews and many articles and opinions I’ve read about her.
To me, she is an elitist who thinks Americans can’t manage to run their own lives; a GOPe hack who has been an advisor to other GOPe hacks; and a Chamber of Commerce Crony who is NOT Conservative and NOT right for America.
Also, she talks like a PC snob.
God bless her, though, for rising from a secretarial position to the CEO who ran HP into the ground.
I think you’re right
Will be 20 years sober on 8/14.
She is also an H-1B whore.
Are people JUST NOW finding out that she has a CHIP ON HER SHOULDER, no different than Ellen Pao?
We don’t need her to win the White House - we need a CONSERVATIVE MESSAGE to win, so, hopefully, we end up with a candidate that will push that message.
Hp’s were the best workhorse printers in the world. Their little 1000 series printers used to last 12 to 15 years. Used to be cheap to run with staples replacement cartridges. Then HP told staples no more cheap cartridges.
