In Carly Fiorinas interview with Katie Couric from May, Fiorina went on and on about how if you dont have a room full of diversity when making an important decision, you will not get the decision right. For Fiorina, its all about hiring women (and of course anyone else who isnt a straight white male), and she goes on at length insisting that women in top positions absolutely and necessarily equates to merit; guarantees merit the same thing Hillary Clinton just said, by the way.
I had been inclined very favorably toward Fiorina, especially because of her ability to otherwise handle left-biased media encounters like this with supreme skill, until I saw the politically correct total b.s in this interview.
The remarks to which I refer begin at the 9:43 mark, and continue to 13:00:

Fiorina emphasizes, adamantly, that she believes a true meritocracy can only result when you have women hired in at least equal numbers as men, and when you have just piles and piles of diversity everywhere, and so on. Pu-leeze.
Shes completely stellar in the rest of the long interview, on other important topics. But Im done with her.
I guess the reason I am working on my THIRD million (I bypassed the first 2) is because I didn’t hire enough females and minorities in key positions.
If it is/was a fact that a female or minority was making anywhere from .20-.30 on the dollar less than a White Male I really did blow it.
Should have hired the women and minorities and just shoved the .30 on the dollar in my pocket.
Oh well, live and learn..../sarc
7 weeks on Monday for me.
Shut up Carly.
Go make me a sandwich.
Easy.
Watch what she does, not what she says.
She says all of the right things.
But does mostly the wrong things.
It’s also the reason Trump is popular right now.
Trump, like America, was once great, then took a mighty fall.
Trump has come back from hard times and has become a success again.
Who better to lead America back to greatness?
Trump?
Maybe.
But is he POTUS material?
Maybe not.
She has an innie instead of an outie?
“Carly set HP on a new course by buying Compact/CompuServe thereby setting them up for long term success that they enjoy now.”
Neither purchase is alive today or producing anything of value. Terrible decision.
People who benefitted from unwritten “diversity” quotas tend to support them.
Really ..?? Taking out the possible competition is BAD ..??
Ok, good, so....why did you say what you said ?
I never liked her.
“Taking out the possible competition is BAD ..??”
Really? Calling either dead company, CompuServe or Compaq, “competition” is laughable. It was wasted money spent. People cringed when she made the deal.
People cringed at almost everything she did ..???????????
“Neither purchase is alive today or producing anything of value. Terrible decision.”
Overall it didn’t seem to hurt them.....Carly wanted HP to be #1...........

Because most IT professionals are alcoholics or at least imbibe heavily on the weekends. My problem was that I was drinking heavily everyday. I defray my stress now with exercise.
Ironic that someone professing sobriety advises others to drink.
Ironic? Hardly. I didn’t advise anyone that they should drink. In my original post, I said that I find that drinking heavily and burying myself in my work helps with work stress. I advised no one to imbibe.
And did you miss the part where I said I was 7 WEEKS sober? It’s not like I’ve been on the wagon for 20 years, bub.
